Am I going crazy or has there not been a FOOTBALL THREAD today?
Bit late now, really... Oh well.
Spurs edge closer to the signing of the past it troublemaker, William Gallas.
Liverpool look to ship Aquilani out on loan to get him some match fitness/up his value before they sell him.
Joe Cole is rubbish.
Trabzonspor have a player called Alanzinho.
Rio Ferdinand won't be fit for another 5 weeks, which I don't think is very interesting but it's the top story on the BBC football page, so I must be wrong.
Crystal Palace have come out of administration. (I'm literally just copying the BBC headlines now.)
West Brom have signed Nigeria international Peter Odemwingie, who came a couple of times during the World Cup and looked fucking awful.
Personal opinion: I thought Ryan Babel was by far Liverpool's best player during the first half of last night's match, and why Hodgson took him off at half-time, God (and Hodgson) only knows. Unless he just thought he'd seen what Babel could do and wanted to give Maxi, Joe Cole and Jovanovic a chance to prove their worth? But Cole and Jovanovic, at least, are new signings who have plenty of time to impressed, whereas Babel's time is surely borrowed. Plus Cole and Jovanovic seem to have already firmly established themselves within Hodgson's plans. Plus there was still a match there for Liverpool to win; it's not like it was a friendly. Or maybe Babel had picked up a knock.
