What have you seen, what do you want to see?
Shutter Island - Saw it t'other day and I agree with peeps on here. It really doesn't deserve the kicking it's been given. I'm biased since I love both Scorsese and DiCaprio and the period in Amrican history in which it's set, but I was very impressed regardless. Suitably mental, very well written, and, as usual, Leo gives yet another performance that'll make his critics seethe and his supporters cheer. He can only get better and continue regaining the ground he lost in the wake (hey yo!) of Titanic and The Beach.

I'm looking forward to I Love You Phillip Morris. Carrey is always entertaining and the story looks very interesting. The girl With The Dragon Tattoo is another I have yet to see. Haven't read a bad review yet. The House Of The Devil for the title alone, Cop Out just for the vicarious car crash thrill of knowing I was right about Kev all along, and that's about it for the time being. Not many films are interesting me at the moment, but I'm more than happy to be persuaded otherwise...?
Also have become seriously obsessed with A Serious Man. As I have with all the Coens films at one point or another. I think it's the silences. The greatest films are about what you see, rather than what you hear, and too often contemp. films don't have enough hypnotic silences. More hypnotic, maddeningly inscrutable silences, please. Thank you.
