Usual Monday morning Speedway Grand Prix thread
Congratulations to Jason Crump, who was finally crowned champion during the Polish GP after a Jenson Button-esque campaign. Though arguably Crump did actually deserve it. Sayfutdinov finishing third overall is quite a story though, seeing as it was his first attempt.
As for the Polish GP itself, Tomasz Gollob manged to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when he got his arse in his hand in the second semi-final. Nikki Pedersen should arguable have been disqualified (again) in the first place but just because he overtook you in the re-run is no reason to park your bike on the start/finish line and stomp off. Seb Ulamek made his first GP final (I think) but finished in behind Leigh Adams and the winner, Nikki Pedersen. Shame Leigh Adams couldn't have won it in his last GP and a shame he was never champion himself, but there you go.
So, on to next year; can Crump retain his title? Will Pedersen spend more time racing than trying to knock people off in an attempt to regain the championship? Is Sayfutdinov mental? Will Greg Hancock be up there again? Why is Rune Holte thinking of not competing next year after finishing in the top 8 this time around? Are Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls really the best Britain can come up with?
Over to you, what do you reckon?
