Apparently our company takes on 4 trainee graduate managers a year but no programmers.
On account of it all being done in India. This seems weird to me for a software house. Traditionally you'd get people in to program and then once you'd satisfied yourself they were unable to do any useful job properly you'd promote them to management so at least they had a vague idea how it was doing the proper work.
Skipping that entirely just seems totally wrong. Anyway, is this the last stage in the development of the country before we sink into nothingness, where learning anything technical becomes fairly academic as it's off-shored/near-shored and you're left with a country where all everyone does is manage shit that other people do? It can't be long before we won't actually do anything at all in the UK...
