Mature Students
Lol, PocketMouse hates students and is considering becoming one, whatevz. Help, and stuff, maybe? Kthnx.
Basically I did my AS levels in 2006, got three As in the subjects I'd do at A2 level (History, Eng Lit, Politics), and a C in the fourth, but I could redo that if required (just in a different subject.
Anyhow, I dropped out very early in my A2 year, and am now unemployed, and every job I apply for requires the intelligence of a below-average moron and makes me feel kinda sick. So I'm thinking about going to university. It'd be 2010 at the earliest, so I'd be 21/22 and therefore a 'mature' (lol) student. I'd likely do History. Ideally at a pretty decent university, I don't want to go for the sake of it.
Basically, I'm just kinda interested in how any mature students here did the route to university kinda thing.
i.e.
Did you take A Levels straight after school, and just have a break before going to uni?
Did you take A Levels as an older student before going to uni?
Did you take some kind of other course to get to uni?
It seems kind of hard to work out. Just generally any kind of advice from people who went to uni as mature students would be great. As to anything related really - the qualifications before applying, the application process, actually being at uni etc.
Obviously if I was going to do it via doing A2 levels, I'd have to get booked onto something prior to the start of the academic year - and I don't know if my AS levels could still count towards anything.
So help and stuff?
But if nobody replies helpfully, feel free to laugh at how spectacularly I screwed everything up.
