Does anyone think that Alistair Darling is the best person to be deciding such things as the whole countries budget?
He's OK of course cos hes got himself a hebridean croft to retire too to avoid the fall out from the mess caused by him continually giving overoptimistic predictions and basing actions upon this.
Why oh why should we allow a person to make the budget to combat future problems to someone who has a proven record of failing to predict the seriousness/depth of the problem? Why because of 'democracy' allied to a 'tradition' of annual budgets.....srsly why even annual budgets? why such a fixed time schedule, surely you have a budget when the conditions change enough from your predictions to indicate that you should take a different course......sticking to tradition like this indicates serious 'dinosaur' tendencies
