Psycho
Last night I watched this film. It's the first Hitchcock piece I have ever seen. Without sounding as if I have come straight from the set of 'I've Never Seen Star Wars' (which I have viewed several times, Star Wars and not the show) I would give it 9 out of ten.
The story line was simple and the palette of characters small. It struck me as a marked difference to most of the films Hollywood knock out. I am not a film buff by any means and have seen two films this week, but that is probably my quota for the year.
Anyway, I want to say that it was refreshing to watch something which doesn't feel contrived. I believe most blockbusters try too hard to be original and superior than their predecessors. My criticism being that this is often at the expense of two important factors: dialogue and simplicity.
What do you think of the film and its comparison to today's film equivalents?
