I'm an Arsenal fan and I'll stand by the fact that before he got injured he was a good developing player but was by no means great. With Adebayor in good form he was fighting for his place alongside Van Persie. After his injury, in order to emphasise the tragedy of the situation the media portrayed him as one of the world's most talented players. This, coupled with a dip in Arsenal's form, meant that the longer he was injured the more revered he became.
The result is he's come back with new confidence and suddenly looks incredible. It's early days but right now his return, more than that of Fabregas, Walcott, Rosicky and the addition of Arshavin, looks like the boost Arsenal need.
Could it be that his 'career-threatening' injury might prove the best thing to ever happen to his career?
