Strikes
So, here in cold rainy Rennes, word on the street is that the strikes [http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2009/feb/05/internationaleducationnews-france] are set to go one step further and there are actually going to be blockades stopping anybody from getting onto campus.
Now, the French are infamous for their strikes, but what I'm curious to know is whether we should strike more, or if we have reason to? English Uni students have to pay tuition fees every year landing us in ridiculous amounts of debt and we don't really do anything to change that... There was a "day of action" at Exeter with these findings... http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=94100195466 [Hope the link works]
The flip side is, of course, if it's just students striking nobody will care, it's only our own degrees we're potentially ruining...
Anyway, thoughts?
