Some Notes on this month's Observer Music Monthly
The usual musical equivalent of 'Clarkson' mostly but an interesting piece by celebrated arse Paul Morley on how music now can only be seen in the past now and 'the future' is just made up of anniversaries of 'seismic' events - its probably true seeing you can now even go and celebrate the 9th anniversary of Terris getting Single of the Week in Melody Maker. I wonder if this is the case as 'pop' music is only really 50 odd years old in terms of modern marketing, so is the 'anniversary' obsession making 'pop music' more redundant than the onslaught of technology OR should we be talking about the Melvins?
