Inner city sumo
Just been witness to an extraordinary incident taking place near enough to Leicester's bustling High Street, at the corner of a crossroads outside the council offices for extra vantage points. A man walking down the street bumps into another man. Whether this is not acknowledged or whether something more was said is unclear, but the next thing anyone sees is the man bumped into race down the path and literally grab the other bloke round the waist and haul him back across half the road and onto the kerb, where both engage in some sort of primeval machismo wrestling in plain view before getting up and having a full and frank exchange of opinions until the original aggressor noticed they'd attracted a crowd not only of pedestrian passers-by but cars were now slowing down to watch.
Excellently, this isn't the best city centre fight I've seen in recent times. I was not a great distance from that spot but in a more populated area one day during one of the very brief heatwaves last summer when two middle aged men emerged from inside a bar in the midst of a full on argument, one taking a couple of roundhouse swings at the other in the process. I passed by the same way ten minutes later on the way back to work and one of the men was still laying face down on the pavement being attended to by a large group of passers-by.
