Rate your own shallowness.
I start with mine.
I supported a husband for years who couldn't be arsed to work for under £35 an hour while I slogged my guts out for an utter cowbag of a boss and nearly fell to pieces from the stress of it all.
I turned down a multi millionaire because he had a really bad cardigan on and seemed a bit too arrogant.
I'm really not impressed by men who flash their cash.
I should and could probably be earning 15k more than I am now, but I don't really want the stress. I also HATE working for an investment bank and everything they do and stand for.
I like nice things but I've conditioned myself to realise that you don't *really* need to spend £25 on something that just takes your makeup off. That doesn’t mean to say that I wouldn’t happily waste £120 on a good pair of boots; it’s just the everyday stuff I resent forking out for now. Vaseline! It’s amazing. It’s totally substituted my really expensive face cream (with cocoa balm first).
But I spend too much money on nice food and going to gigs that cost too much and I live in a lovely flat that costs a small fortune, because I’ve never had a good flat share experience and know that it inherently makes me miserable being in small, damp squalid places.
It's amazing how relentless the stream of friends/colleagues saying 'just bag yourself a rich man' are though. Even people that I really respect professionally seem to have this mindset.
Overall, 6/10, I reckon.
You? Explanations would be interesting too.
