Living in a four star Swiss hotel
I'm studying in Geneva for my mandatory year abroad. I thought I'd found somewhere in the holidays but then the landlady kicked me out for bringing my own towels, putting food in her freezer and putting pictures up with blue tack on the walls (which is fucking stupid, I know). Never rub a Swiss landlady the wrong way, trust me.
I stayed in a little Christian hotel (and met some awesome Scottish Christians) for two days and phoned like mad in order to find a place to stay while I searched for a long term house. The only free place I could find was a fucking ridiculous four star hotel, with Wi-fi, two beds, air con, satellite TV, a hairdryer, a free transport pass, a mini-bar, room service and a bloody huge mirror. And a porter. Besides that, though, it's boring as sin.
The funny thing is, I found a lovely, scenic house on the first day of being here. It costs 400 Swiss Francs a month. Which is just about how much this hotel room costs me a day!
Thank God I'm moving out here in two days!
So...anyone got any GOOD travel/study stories?
