Wright Stuff & GunControl
The subject of the College shootings in Virginia were tackled on The Wright Stuff this morning. It's always heartening to hear the U.S. get a kicking over it's pro-gun stance and the gist of this discussion was America's deafening silence on any proposals for gun control/availability. Its just a shame that Mr Wright and his cohorts have to momentarily bring the 'Violent movies/tv incite real-life violence' argument into it. Films and television did not invent guns, murder, psychopaths, rape and all the unsavoury ills of society, they merely (sometimes well, often badly) reflect the world around them. It just depresses me to think that now the gunmans deranged, gungho, suicide notes and videos have been partially revealed to the media, its only a matter of time (sooner rather than later) before they link this massacre with the latest batch of violent horror & action movies. We'll once again be on the path of least resistence with politicians pretending their doing something whilst doing nothing. More legislation on the arts, none on firearms. The carnage continues.
