Amp thread - bedroom amp for around £200
My Laney LC15 is dying. Clean sound crackles and goes quiet or drops out randomly. I have no idea what i'm doing so have decided to buy a new amp.
My needs...
Have a standard tele, and just want something that sounds nice and warm when clean. Have digitech distortion, boss reverb, and a couple of cheap behringer pedals for effects - so not too bothered about having anything on board.
Like to play tctc, my vitriol, radiohead, deftones covers and what not.
Any recommendations?
Thanks guys.

surely cheaper to get your amp repaired
If you're just after an amp for playing in the bedroom
why not check out Guitar Rig for you laptop?
Fender mustang II/III?
I've got a gretsch g5222 (basically a gretsch branded fender champion 600) just a really basic 5w tube amp that sounds really nice. I've also read loads of great things about the vox pathfinder series and they are well under your budget
vox pathfinder
roland cube
vox ac4
blackstar ht-1r
or get a vox lil night train and run it through your current amps speaker.
+1 for Lil Night Train
I have the head and the cab and it really is pretty great for what it is - can go for completely clean to jangly breakup to pretty heavy and dark, kinda QOTSA-y. Not sure it does far enough for Deftones, but the you do have pedals. Also only 2W, which helos bedroom-wise
Get a Cube
or I'll cut you. I play VERY similar music to the stuff you're on about (http://www.facebook.com/chasingmelfina - shameless plug) and a Cube was my main live amp for ages. I still rehearse with one and sometimes I like it more than my Bassman. The on-board effects are fantastic but the JC Clean channel is a great blank canvas, too - it takes pedals better than any other amp I've played to date.
Here's one in action, taking effects like a choirboy takes it up the bum: http://youtu.be/I6vYpH4K4UM
Was gonna suggest an LC15...
