Did i ever make a thread on Shizuka? (Slowcore/Psych/Japanese Noise Freakout)
i just google searched and i don't think i did, so here is one.
someone on this here board recommended them to me and i've become obsessed over the past three months with their only album (which came out in 1994). sadly the singer committed suicide three years ago, and i think this will remain a lost classic, but it is definitely a classic. the track below is just outstanding, like the music of Red House Painters or Mazzy Star torn apart by Acid Mothers Temple. i hope you all enjoy it;

merci
let us know what you think!
volcanic tongue definitely had it once, they get all the PSF stuff
there's a live cd in stock now
https://www.volcanictongue.com/artists/browse_all/5378
but aye it's fantastic! Maki Miura's guittar solos as well
aye, i don't think they have heavenly persona now
it's incredible isn't it?
Miura Shizuka's vocals are so devastating, i wish i could find the translations somewhere. maybe i'll just have to get better at japanese
it is <3
been playing it so hard recently. its a shame they didn't record the live stuff properly too, although the quality for the live albums aren't too shabby.
Sounds good going by that one song
Haunting stuff, with some nice guitar wiggery at the end. Anyone know why she offed herself?
no
this is the most thats been written on them, it seems;

also, they have two live albums and 3-4 other non-album tracks which are readily available on soulseek
Not heard this before, nice one
Never heard of this before
Its amazing. Thank you.
I obtained the album, through rather dubious means (*cough*soulseek*cough*)
Is it called Heavenly Persona or Heaven's Persona? No one seems to be in agreement. Nevertheless, it's brilliant stuff. There's surprisingly few bonafide guitar outbursts throughout; much of it is just the vocalist warbling and strumming her guitar for a prolonged periods of time... but it works. It's a pretty unnerving, bleak experience all in all, especially when the lead singer's suicide is taken into account, but I like it. It's as if the tortured spirits from Project Zero decided to get together and form a band.
just got a live DVD sent to me from Japan
its utterly gorgeous. there's something special about this band.
This is lovely
I'll have to try and track it down too.
It seems like you can get it via mail order from the label (PSF Records)
Although whether this is still available I don't know. It's not cheap, $18 + $5 shipping from here:
http://www.psfrecords.com/order.html
It's catalogue no. PSFD-52
I may have to give it a go post-payday. I'm pretty smitten with it.
oh you can buy it again now
not sure if theres any point me putting it out in the UK then.
I'm not sure,
the website looks like it was abandoned about a decade ago so without emailing an order in I don't know whether it's still in stock or deliverable to the UK. Would definitely be worth trying to reissue with a bit less hassle...
i ordered this...
direct from the psf website and it has just arrived safe and sound. took about a week and a halfish to get to the uk and came in at just under £20 once shipping was added...worth it though, really worth it! thanks so much for the tip Jordon_229_2...
