You know who I miss? Fuck Buttons.
Their conception was very well-timed in regards to musical trend; they were on an upward climb in terms of their successive albums; they fused elements of post-rock and drone to make very uplifting electronic music. They were so relevant a few years ago and then just vanished.
I noticed they're on the primavera sound lineup so perhaps they producing new content, however their goofy website (http://www.fuckbuttons.co.uk/) doesn't really point to that.
Did anyone catch them live? Were they good? Does anyone recommend any bands akin to them?
listening to flight of the feathered serpent...still sounds juicy as ever

synths*
it allowed for a slightly more entertaining spectacle then laptops but it was more or less what you'd expect from an electronic act live.

New album is out this year.
Blanck Mass (half of FB) has been putting out solid material for the last 2 years.
outspaced this'd this -
Ghosting Season
... do a similar live show, which personally I found more entertaining (switching between laptops, guitars and drums)
-
They played new stuff when I saw them in November
It sounded quite Italo style. Good though. They had a giant disco ball too, I hope that's fixture for their sets now.

I may be in tears through their whole set
and afterwards.
-
buy a pair of levis 501
I hate all the "fuck" bands.
-
saw blanck mass at atp last year
i was very unimpressed. big fan of fuck buttons though
-
I saw them years ago at Truck just after the first album had come out
They were absolutely abysmal, just completely directionless noise. The second album was a marked improvement on their sound but I haven't seen them live since.
Blanck Mass is/are far better for my money.

They were pretty good live
as good as 2 guys with microphones in their mouth over some laptops could be. It wasn't nowt special live but it was great hearing their music on a good sounding loud set up.
