Dan Friel has a new solo album out soon though I think
here's a story
part and labor crashed at my house once and then dan's girlfriend shouted at us because we didn't recycle. then she did the washing up at 4am while the rest of us were drinking absinthe. she worked in the natural history museum in NY iirc so i had to trust her. now i recycle

first time I saw them was when I was on holiday in Toronto in 2007. Mike Diver had been going on about how good they were on here so I went to see them. they were supported by DD/MM/YYYY, who were local heroes to some degree I think, and most of the crowd were there to see them. loads of people did stick around for P&L though, except P&L were so loud (like, SO loud) that by the end there were maybe ten of us left. i felt sorry for them so bought Stay Afraid and Mapmaker. also because they were amazing.

Will have to check this out later - was never hugely into Parts and Labour but I really like US Maple and hadn't heard about this project at all. Intriguing stuff.
