Braid UK Dates - pledge on Detour
Alright DiSers, my friend has just received this e-mail:
?"Hi [name redacted],
Good news! We've spoken to the agent and the promoter, and we'll be able to confirm Braid soon IF we can get some more pledges.
We're going to do everything we can from Songkick's end. However, getting to 100 or 150 pledges will be really easy if you can also spread the word. If you'd like to invite your friends (or random strangers - as long as they pledge for Braid ! ) please use this link and code;
BX1HJRM6"
They've currently got over 65 'votes' but need people to actually 'pledge' - I have 10 invites if you're not currently on Detour, hit me up with a PM and your e-mail if you'd like one.
They're doing Frame & Canvas in it's entirety in the US at the moment - let's make this happen here! The Desa show last week was amazing.

sorry what?
i don't understand what this is? i would like to see braid but this sounds like pop idol. just come and do a tour and they'll sell out a bunch of shows easily. wtf?
-
The whole idea is it's for bands who might not be able to put up the capital for a tour abroad
You pledge money so they're confirmed enough to make it over here, and if they don't come you don't pay. Pretty simple idea.
chickenbones this'd this -
and your pledge gets you a ticket to the gig?
is this better or worse than guarantees. can't decide. anyway. i love braid. i sign.
-
You decide how much you want to pledge so they can work out a rough idea of how much to charge/how much they can raise
Then once the gig is confirmed they send you an e-mail telling you how much the tickets cost (I pledged £20 per ticket for Desa, they ended up being £15) and you can chose to add more or decline completely if you can't make it/have changed your mind. You are guaranteed a ticket if you've pledged, then they go on general sale afterwards.

I don't know this band
But I wanna help. Tell me something that'll make me like them.
-
they are really good
and especially good live. and even though frame and canvas is great, the age of octeen is amaaaaaaaazing
-
Yeah. I'll definitely pledge.
I saw them support Antlers at Heaven and also them headline XOYO a few years ago. I was hoping that they'd play I'll Be Your Mirror as they're such an "ATP band".
-
cat_race this'd this
-
Think you must mean Braids, mate.
Equally as good, if not better, but not the same band at all.
Unless Braid did support Antlers, but that seems unlikely.
-
Yep. I got the wrong band. I'll check out Braid later. Shame, as
I'd love to see Braids again live.

Yeah, I'll pledge
I really want this to happen.
I've also been meaning to try and organise something to bring The Promise Ring over but I'm lazy.
