Physical Graffiti
So I've realised I only ever really listen to the first disc - in fact, those six songs are probs my favourite release by them. For some reason, the second disc is a mystery to me. On my few listens, it's always struck me as a real ragbag of bits & pieces, much less cohesive than the first disc. Is that deliberate? Does anyone else find the same, or do y'all listen to it as a single 80-minute album? What's my WAY IN to the second half?

The Wanton Song is my favourite Led Zep song.
It's so fucking percussive.
Physical Graffiti is also my favourite Led Zep album. It does everything that you want a Led Zep album to do.
swamii this'd this -
Never listened to it properly but I love loads of the songs on it
Custard Pie kicks ass
-
Half the songs were old recordings from 1970 to 1972
The remainder were recorded in 1974 for Physical Graffiti.
I've split mine into two chronological playlists because....well, I don't know. You could give that a try?
An astounding album in any order.
1970-1972
08. Bron-Yr-Aur
11. Night Flight
13. Boogie with Stu
09. Down by the Seaside
02. The Rover
04. Houses of the Holy
14. Black Country Woman
1974
01. Custard Pie"
03. In My Time of Dying
05. Trampled Under Foot
06. Kashmir
07. In the Light
10. Ten Years Gone
12. The Wanton Song
15. Sick Again
-
not a massive fan of them at all
but The Wanton Song is a beast. borderline funk
-
Oh wow.
Well I never knew that. Just reading up on it now. Cheers!

If the 1974 recording were released as a single album...
best album ever.
Also The Rover/Houses Of The Holy were recorded during the HOTH sessions, Night Flight too I think. Put these on Houses Of The Holy album instead on The Crunge/D'yer Maker and that also rules.
... Restrospective revision of albums... I've got a 20 track version of the White Album that's hard to beat... Loveless without Touched... why listen to crap songs if you don't have to

the second disc has
tens years gone, bron-yr-aur, night flight, black country woman and sick again on it
thats pretty solid
it's not as cohesive i suppose but the whole album is more of a get as many songs as possible out there affair than the unified single disc records which proceeded it
