Kraftwerk are headlining T in the Park
In amongst a complete crock of shit (Mumford and Sons, The Killers and The Script(?!?!)), this is a complete surprise. Having missed out on the Tate shows, I can see me forking out for a day ticket for this.

Kraftwerk
I cant believe this
T in the Park, really?? Bet the organisers cant believe their luck!
I only saw Kraftwerk once, in 1991
It was when U2 did a one-off show in Manchester to do with a protest against a new Sellafield reactor. They were first on (with Big Audio Dynamite and Public Enemy after them), at about 5pm, and loads of people were still at work, the place was half empty. But they were given a whole hour, and their full stage set. It was absolutely fantastic. I want to see them again, even if there's only one of them left.
Hmm, having planned...
...to go to Latitude this summer, I was excited to see rumours of both The Pet Shop Boys AND Kraftwerk headlining - don't know if this announcement makes Kraftwerk more or less likely to headline another UK festival. Having seen them at Bestival back in 2009, they are an excellent headline act.
usually Ts headliners will do one of the english festivals too
usually reading/leeds or v though :s
I'd
Say more likely. They aren't headlining the main stage at T, and Latitude would be a perfect fit for them.
Saying that, it's only the one guy left it in it, so is it really evenKraftwerk anymore?
Current members Fritz and Henning have both been in the band...
...since the 80s tbf.
plus who gives a fuck anyway. Its all about the music and since
they haven't really made anything new (that anyone has heard) since tour de france soundtracks in 2003 it really doesn't matter.
that is a shame
That is one fucking weird clash of main headliner and the entire rest of the festival.
I know a lot of people who go religiously who will be wonder who the fuck are Kraftwerk.
The T in the Park poster would appear to have them as a second tier act,
with the headliners being Mumford & Sons, Rhihanna and the Killers. Can't really see Kraftwerk playing above any of these.

They'll headline the second stage, probably.
Is Kraftwerk at Glastonbury out of the question?
I'd say it made it more likely
Glasto headliners often play T
I'd much prefer it if they were in a tent
Wouldn't that be better for the 3D visuals and stuff?
the tent area is full of radges, though, innit.
and i mean relatively. which is really saying something.
You're not really going to be able to avoid that though.
They should be playing the velodrome in Glasgow.
they bloody well should be
Mate, it's all full of radges!
i know.
but, as i say, it's a notable relative phenomenon even compared to the rest of the fest
there is something really, really odd about seeing them in amongst all that crap
I think this might be a really elaborate practical joke
I
Think they'll probably be headlining latitude.
that is a really fucking shit set of headliners.
Are Mumford and Sons really that big? Christ.
Yeah it's really bad even for T in the Park's standards
Massive surprise seeing Kraftwerk up there in amongst the shite. They should probably be in the Slam tent rather than the main stage though.
There's a finite number of bands out there...
...who are a big enough draw to justify being headliners at one of the major festivals. Would you have preferred a headline trio of Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Kasabian.
Not that surprised that Mumford & Sons now appear to have joined this 'elite' group.
Yes to Coldplay.
They did just win best album at the Grammys
mumford and sons are fucking massive
and well capable of headlining massive festivals. i'd prefer if they would stick to festivals where the people who go just want to hear some familiar songs they hear on radio 1 (v, um, don't know what other festival really, i guess i would prefer it if m&s would just play v and no other festivals ever, that would be fine) but i've a feeling they're going to encroach on festivals where at least some attention should be paid to how good the music is rather than how much it's sold :(
dear god that was an appalling sentence and i apologise but you know what i mean.
Well
T is just the Scottish T in the Park, so...
Anyway, i imagine they'll mainly be doing their own Gentleman of the road festivals.
what i meant was
T in the Park is just the Scottish V festival
They must have really run out of money.
Pretty sure they'll be headlining Latitude.
For which Portishead and Pet Shop Boys are also rumoured. TAKE ME THERE!
Ooh, nice...
Holy shit
I'd be all over that.
Maybe Kraftwerk want the opportunity for a bunch of people on eccies to go crazy for them
enjoy kraftwerk at titp.
An odd choice of T in the Park
Considering the shite they have on. In other news, it appears Mumford & Sons are now too big to play Green Man. HOORAY.
sadly they'll probably see them on the way down
guh
if there was a mumford & sons blocker for life like there are adblockers for the internet i would have signed up
people have been getting into the tate shows
most nights by turning up & getting returns
really really annoying
I have a spare for tonight at the Tate
£60 if anyone's interested.
