and, while the line-up wasn't amazing on paper, it was one of the best festivals I've been to. Lots of more mainstream bands (Killers, REM, Kaiser Chiefs and Iron Maiden) that were actually great fun to watch while drunk. Great weather, cheap beer, right near the centre of Budapest, etc.

had an amazing time, great mix of top mainstream bands and smaller artists, plus it was cheaper than UK festivals (including travel!)

benicassim.. was great, but that was 10 years ago
primavera.. is good
rock en seine.. good city with an ok festival

none of these are cheap really though. get yourself to random parts of europes.
