OH MY GOD SEND HELP
This is the most dedicated music board trolling I've ever seen.
Designing an entire site and orchestrating a wave of indie fapping across the internet, all just to wind up a few bedwetters on DiS. Bravo.
Incidentally, it's gonna break my heart when I don't get tickets
haha academy 2 in Manchester
yeh, that's not going to get upgraded.
WANTWANTWANTWANTWANTWONTGETCANTREALLYAFFORD:(
I have to assume
that Manchester will be upgraded, I mean it's going to sell out in minutes. Or do they do these sort of things just to piss people off
*seconds

Just reformed for live shows after announcing a remaster of their only album.
You should check them out and then maybe get a ticket for a show if you enjoy them.
Press release
THE POSTAL SERVICE ANNOUNCE FIRST HEADLINE SHOWS FOR 10 YEARS
UK DATES IN MAY, SHOWS IN LONDON AND MANCHESTER
TICKETS ON SALE NOW AT www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk
DELUXE 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF 'GIVE UP' INCLUDING TWO UNRELEASED SONGS RELEASED 8TH APRIL ON SUB POP
Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello a/k/a The Postal Service have added two UK dates to a worldwide jaunt which now appears to be a full-on reunion tour. With US dates confirmed around their Coachella appearances on 13th and 20th April, the two UK shows plus a night in Paris lead up to their performance at Barcelona's Primavera Sound 2013 festival. The band will then make their long awaited return to New York when they'll headline Brooklyn's Barclay Center in June.
Tickets for the newly announced dates are on sale now at www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk
Gibbard and Tamborello will be reuniting on the road with a band fleshed out by Jenny Lewis (Jenny & Johnny, Rilo Kiley) and Laura Burhenn (Mynabirds, Bright Eyes) to celebrate the 10th anniversary and deluxe edition reissue of The Postal Service's universally acclaimed release, 'Give Up'. The 'Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition' is out 8th April on Sub Pop includes the original 10-track album along with 15 bonus tracks. It also includes the brand new songs 'Turn Around' and 'A Tattered Line of String', a previously unreleased live recording, and every other official recording the band has ever released, as well as cover versions of Postal Service classics by The Shins and Iron & Wine.
Both the tour and 'Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition' find Lewis reuniting with The Postal Service: she appeared on the original album and played with the band on its handful of 2003 tour dates. Lewis also sings on the two new songs on the 'Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition'
Additional dates on this first Postal Service tour in a decade will be announced as they are confirmed. Check http://www.postalservicemusic.net/ for further details as they become available and to view the US dates.
'Give Up' was certified platinum last year just shy of 10 years from its original 9th Feb 2003 release. Led by the single 'Such Great Heights', the landmark album is the second-biggest selling album in Sub Pop’s nearly 25-year history after Nirvana’s Bleach.

Still not sold out either... Anyone know what percentage of tickets they sell in advance to o2 customers? Assumed a fairly small % of preseale would go in seconds.

Use the link above and scroll down to 20th May
http://www.o2priority.co.uk/Listings/The-Postal-Service/21586

Really? Just tried again and I was able to reserve 2 more standing.
Obviously you need to be with o2 and signed in. Beyond that, sozidunno.

Depends if you are on O2
I'd quite like to buy tickets, but the crowd surge ones are all sold out and I can't get the O2 ones.
I got crowdsurge ones.
They keep coming back up.
it's worth sorting yourself out
with a username and password. I got one from a mate of a mate of a mate ages ago and have used it a lot.

Given how fast The Knife pre-sale sold out recently!

Got 2 for Manchester!
I noticed a 19th May date for Brixton, then it quickly vanished again.
Not on O2, wasn't aware of Crowdsurge, sold out in seconds this morning...
FUCK :(
If you're planning to go to Brixton
I'm sure there'll be another date :(
Was planning on Manch...
...but a friend had a spare for the Monday Brixton date. Manchester would've been great, closer and a saturday, but there's no way I can miss it.
Phew, managed to get 4
although ticket web £2.50 for an e-ticket can do one.
Stargreen seemed to collapse.
19th May Brixton - Now on sale
crap
Sunday would be loads better. anyone want to swap for a Monday ticket?
Sunday is way more convenient for me...
... if anyone wants to buy two face value standing tickets for the Monday night give me a shout.
I got mine in the presale but apparently the general sale for Manchester sold out in FIVE MINUTES!
I've got a couple of spares for the London date.
Let me know if you're interested.
Got a Sunday ticket
a friend of mine and his fiance got tickets for the Sunday show, after failing on Manchester and the Monday show, messaged me, so i've booked up. Plus my friend will drive down and back from the midlands. Good times.
New song!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=OIJaQhVoMZg
I have a spare ticket, if anybody wants it PM me for face-value fun-times.
Any thoughts on the Manchester show?
it was just like listening to the album now for me, nice but seriously underwhelming
might be the beer and talking
But that was wonderful. Was expecting a nostalgia trip and it delivered. Had a bit and f a man meant during brand new colony <333333
and f a man meant?
*OF A MOMENT
I thought it was great
They seemed like they were really enjoying themselves and it was just a really fun evening and Jenny Lewis is amazing. A couple of people I was with thought it was ruined by Ben Gibbard's dad dancing though
Had a brilliant time
Crowd was great, Ben and Jenny seemed to be having a blast and got treated to a lovely re-work of Evan and Chan (and a rather odd Beat Happening cover). Admittedly, the beer and sense of nostalgia probably heightened my enjoyment.
Downsides: not a word from Jimmy, the stifling heat and some of the electronic elements lacked clarity at times. Minor quibbles, though.
Brixton
Was horrendous. Static crowd. Laptop man drowned everyone out. The fact that Jenny Lewis got the only cheers says it all. I love the album but that gig was car crash territory. DCFC guy total idiot and his attempt to play drums was pathetic. You couldn't hear any of it. Recycled air was probably the worst thing I've ever heard in 24 years of attending gigs. The set was riddled with covers and b-sides to fill it out - they should have played the lp and left after 45 mins
Brixton, May 19th
Did no one else think the sound tonight was fucking awful?!
I was in a group of four and wherever we stood in the venue, all of us agreed that the whole thing just sounded like a complete mess. The bass was way too loud and distorted, and the vocals were barely audible at all. It baffles me when sound guys never notice how shitty bands sound sometimes! I've been to Brixton Acad many times before and the sound has been crystal clear. I'm amazed to see positive comments on here. Someone confirm that my friends and I aren't crazy?! I'm not blaming this on the band performing badly, from what I could hear through the distorted mess, they put on a pretty good set. Very disappointed!
