DiSc CPR
So, you know in those Soundcloud threads I've mentioned now and again that I've been thinking of putting a podcast together
well here it is...
Drowned in Soundcloud Community Podcast Radio No.1; January 2013
https://soundcloud.com/body-in-the-thames/disc-cpr-1-january-2013
12 tracks and minimal talking running to just under 43 minutes
- Relevant artist taggings:
- Showaddywaddy »[x]
- Neon Highwire »[x]

Have you thought about using Mixcloud for this
I think it would suit it well
Although I'm well aware
That would be defeating the object of the soundcloud bit of the songs, but the subscribe feature be nice.
Oh and good work ofc.
well, the thing is
all of the folk featured on the thing have Soundcloud pages as per this thread;
http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4346505
which is where the idea came from
:)

Thanks again for playing us!
Don't mention it, it was fun
I've never really done this kind of thing before but it's something I've always meant to get around to trying so it was a good opportunity and I'm looking forward to the next one already
Hope there's some cross pollination and that it gets plenty of listens - you can repost into your timeline on Soundcloud, tweet it, stick it on your facebook etc. It think it's a pretty good selection of work and it's barely scratched the surface of all the talent on these boards so hopefully there's some mileage in it too
Having said all that AND THIS IS A GENERAL POINT TO ANYONE this is my first time so PLEASE let me know what you'd like to hear and/or anything I could do differently (ie better)
cheers
Needs more Body_in_the_Thames
d'you mean more talking?
or some of my own musical doodlings?
both
There's plenty of time for all that, don't you worry
Jordan_229_2?
A real test of whether you can separate the man from the art.
oh you *giggles*
Cool stuff. Just listening to this now.
Any chance of putting a track listing on the Soundcloud page at all?
A link back to the original track/band's soundcloud would be useful too.
a put a track list up
soundcloud is a bit sticky at times - it should be up there
I'm going to populate the tracklist with links after I've finished my dinner :)
and I'm going to ID the tracks with timeline comments too
I*
bloody hell
just tried to post this to Soundcloud but it wouldn't let me

well, it's here now
and as soon as I post that
it works on Soundcloud
technology eh
yay
Nottingham's finest
hope I got the live date right - sneaky ending on that track too
ha, im not sure it was the best track for playing on air :)
but thanks for doing so anyway!
it's alright
I looked at the wave just in time
Awesome, cheers for playing me!
my pleasure
that's a hell of a lot of track for 1 guy
WOAH
I always dreamed that the DiS community would do things like this.
so glad to make your dreams come true sean
wasn't sure how you'd react to this tbh
from what I've listened to,
some great stuff, nice to see a distillation of all the DiS talent, and I can't wait to hear more!
I am very much enjoying this
Thanks for putting this together. Really enjoyed the whole thing, and _cuckoo's track especially.
Really good mix of styles
Thanks for including us, looking forward to the next one!
How do you know what you're gonna get?
??
As in, is this some sort of ALL GENRE exercise
or just moody Radiohead covers or what? I might listen regardless.
well
there's a broadish cross section of stuff and I hate ascribing genres to things
you should just have a listen
I'm a busy man
but OKAY.
It's a bit like a radio show
You should call it that
Really enjoying this
You talented bastards. Thanks BITT!
GOATMEAT
Absolutely loving yours.
thanks guyz
Nice one
This is a really good idea and I look forward to the next ones. You have a brilliant radio voice as well by the way.
thanks
most excellent
thanks for putting this together BITT.
This is very cool, good work all around.
Loving the Und_Gorgeous_Cars track
Anything with Sparklehorse echoes works well for me.
Jordan's track's ace too, great work
Christ, a Sparklehorse comparison?!
I can die a happy man, thanks!
It's a fair comparison
cheers!
yeah your voice is so good
Good christ. Your voice is like a hypnosis tape.
This is a fucking great idea.
It's all a bit white.
WHERE'S THE HIP HOP, THURSTON?
Yes it is all a bt white
it is DiS afterall so I'm not surprised by that
or by the fact that it is majority male
but I am rather surprised by the fact that the overwhelming majority of DiS bands are south east
where's all the Scottish DiS bands and the Manchester DiS bands ?
And what about Bristol?
That's a good point actually, i don't think there are any Mcr DiSbands
cat_race's band don't have a Soundcloud I don't think, but they are dead good. moousee's joke band only have a Bandcamp as far as I can remember. Me, incandenza, wilykit, moousee and Scout started a band on Friday though. We haven't played together yet and I don't know if Scout is aware of it but we're going to be great. I've got a stupid Soundcloud thing (http://soundcloud.com/autoflag) but it's not very good
is it wrong to say what our favourites were?
Because I liked Aquatic Slime and Adam Russell, and was pleasantly surprised by Mr Dowling's effort.
Great work BITT, that was a fun listen (and weirdly like Peel meets Brass Eye)
aw you're too kind :)
i got the peel/brass eye vibe too!
cheers Sean
give it a soundcloud re-post would ya? ta
as for having favourites, that's fine ... if I have the stamina to see it through to December I reckon'll I'll do a Festive Dozen
Thanks Sean!
I loved this
I do hope there will be more volumes. Well done all!
there'll definitely be more!
No bad guitar tracks from me
Well fair enough
nice work BITT
Really looking forward to listening to this when I get home
I saw that Jordan posted a link on his fb last night but forgot about it
I imagine your voice is like a warm bath
Like Rob Da Bank but cosier
you imagine...
are you flirting with me?
I just realised I've heard your voice on the chris_is_cool song so not flirting that much
That was really great btw, improved the bus ride from Chorlton to Stockport no end this morning
improved the bus ride from Chorlton to Stockport no end
:D
classic jordan
Well done BITT
Will give this a listen later
Really enjoyed that, more please
Everything about this is great, you talented feckers.
Great bunch o' bedwetters.
Do you have to be a very regular user to get in on this?
Or have to be in the UK?
There's no prejudice against users of any stripe
And I actively encourage non-UK DiSsers - I am non UK myself
will have a listen tonight
may join in on februarys
The Rat :-D
i like your voice by the way
Great job BITT!
What a talented lot, looking forward to the next one!
I'm listening
The one before the boring country one is good
Not sure why everyone's saying you've got a good voice
Makes me feel like you're sliding your hand up my thigh.
And un what universe is that not good?
in*
Fair point. Was just somewhat surprising.
Rude!
thanks for the inclusion BITT
Great job - really enjoyed the whole thing
don't mention it
really like your band btw - hope you don't mind that I did a sneaky edit of your track
I going to listen to this this evening
Really liking this; good format, not too much chat, though short opinion now and again might be interesting
The Nobody Special and Aquatic Slime tracks are particularly standing out at the moment. The latter was a little bit like Chvrches, at least to these ill informed ears.
The version of The Rat is better than the original
cheers
yeah, I consciously kept the talking to a minimum, might get a bit more relaxed about that once the listener is more used to my voice
might even try a telephone interview or two in a future show
glad you liked it
Listened!
This is great, good job on putting it all together. Your voice does sound like you're trying to NLP us all. With the voice and variety of sounds it really is a Peel/Morris cross like people have said, haha.
srsly tho.
I really enjoyed loads of these tracks - there was a lot of piano in there which I wasn't expecting. Was that deliberate? Like, Volume 1: The Piano Sessions.
I'd love to hear some interviews or just little soundbites from artists in future ones that would be great. Sean would wet his pants.
There's only a finite number of people on DiS making music who might send in things for you, so I guess we'll be hearing more of the same people. Which I really like, especially if we start hearing them talk about what they're working on, talking clever or being dumb. It will give these threads an audible voice and extra layer of character. Sean wets his pants again.
The only thing I would say - or request I have - is; could you speed up your talking just a little bit? I feel a bit mean saying anything negative, but a bit more momentum to the talking would be great and wouldn't nullify the soporific tone you have.
Looking forward to the next one for sure.
The interviews thing is a good plan
Don't speed up yr talking though, everyone's in too much of a hurry anyways
I tend to agree
points noted
thanks for the feedback
I think one of the many collaborations between myself and Cementimental should appear on this.
Or just a straight up Cementimental track.
Completely this
your (collective) musical outings had not escaped my notice
why can't i listen to this?
soundcloud telling me something went wrong... am i missing something
NEVERMIND
it worked
this is rad!
this internet forever / piano one / meatbreak one are a gret threesome!
bd
talented bunch you lot!
also
loving your voice!
cheers c-b
Hi
gonna do some prep for the February one between now and when I record it this weekend (Sunday probably)
so if there's anyone who wants to make me specifically aware of something they'd like to nominate for this (either their own or someone else's) then please do it either here or PM me, or link me on Twitter @bodyinthethames
cheers!
run, WALK!
(RIP, I think)
RIP? really?
oh man :(
one of slowdim uses DiS now, but i think only because of a thread about them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSPOW4-aod4 if thats allowed. i'll ask them to put it on soundcloud
Jordan
make a longer version of your 1 minute track for this.
That's what I nominate.
Looking forward to the next installment BITT, good luck putting it together
i'm gonna do this on sunday :) xx

cheers yourself
you're kind of responsible after all
Fantastic - cheers for this BITT.
thanks! and first song, that's really cool
no need to thank me guys
but reposting on Soundcloud, tweeting, sharing on Facebook etc. are all useful ways to get more people to listen
so much talent on these boards, folk need to hear it
tweeted and facebooked!
good lad
Oh man the bit about werk's cat
heartbreaking stuff innit
Thanks again for doing this Buddy In The Thames!
bravo to all involved
this is great
Antelope's stuff sounds like Whales getting into Godspeed! :D
:'') cheers!
it's probably no co-incidence that I was listening to Raise Your Skinny Fists and a lot of Tom Hecker when I made this. I also recorded this at Waipatiki Beach, the same day I saw a school of orca whales go by, which makes your post even more surreal for me...
Just noticed you capitalized Whales
so probably actually referring to a band I haven't heard of, is that the Swedish alt rock band?
It's cos it's Saint Dhavid's Day
Yeah... Or just an insignificant typo.
(Sorry.)
Listening now
Liked, tweeted, facebooked. So far so awesome. Your own track is great . Probably post more as I hear it. In a bit drink.
The transitions between tracks
Brilliant! From Ireland to New Zealand. I take bak what I said about your voice. Really liking it now.
Skelly, your song is lovely!
cheers for the big ups
yeah, the quality all the way through is very high
good work all round
:D Cheers man.
It was weird hearing it in a podcast. Made me feel special.
yeah i was grinning like an idiot when i was listening on the bus
Brilliant BITT, really enjoying this
Thanks heaps, currently blasting this. Your song is fantastic, the production is incredible.
I made this album art for it if anyone wants to use it
Hope you're okay with me using the sites logo Sean :)
http://i.imgur.com/yQ76Qf0.png
thanks man
not sure about using the DiS logo - its a community thing after all, pretty independent of the BizNiz
then again, I have no idea what Sean thinks
tweeted and facebooked
from my own account and the band's.
Many thanks for picking us!
Listened to as much as I could before work this morning. Will check out the rest later on.
Sterling stuff so far!
this is fantastic!
you guys are great
i'm gonna make something for this!
x
x
x
well done EVERYONE!
just heard werks
i don't think the standard of my work is up to this! fuck you guys are good!
We should
Get round to recording something proper.
are you two collaborating?
we used to be in a terrible band
:(
how did that work?
did you cancel each other out?
I blame GoatmeatMF
I accept that
He's the talented one, I make the noise and spoil it. Makes for tense working conditions.
ha ha ha
that is BALLS and you know it!
you just like black metal too much
Maybe I never brought ENOUGH
The world needs more Elitist Black Glitch.
GET A ROOM
I'd like BITT to narrate my life please
Just provide segues between all the things I'm doing.
:)
Good christ this is high quality stuff. Seriously.
This is brilliant.
so good
So pleased to be part of this
Thanks again, another cracker
I made a set now
where I'll put them all ... or at least as many as I can before I max out my account
https://soundcloud.com/body-in-the-thames/sets/dis-cpr
and I used your artwork Antelope and it seems that Sean doesn't mind because he reposted it to his Soundcloud timeline
also, my soundcloud seems to be picking up 15-20 listens per day now
which i'm sure is in part due to this thread/community playlist thing so thanks!
this was kind of the point from the beginning
and hopefully it will snowball throughout the year
good to hear it's producing results
it's encouraging when you know there is an audience for what you do - however small or large it might be
and while we're on the subject
everyone involved in any of the podcasts ought to repost this to their Soundcloud too
https://soundcloud.com/body-in-the-thames/sets/dis-cpr
hm, well since i said that i've gone from 18 listens in one day to 0 in two
so...yeah.
swings and roundabouts. magic of the cup.
When I jagged my band's stuff a while ago I got about 3 replies
and about 100 plays. Kind of impressive how many lurkers there are on here, and how many are from outside the UK.
there's a lot more that everyone involved could do to help promote one another tbh
I might learn to make music just so I can be a part of this.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first one (GoatmeatMF - take a bow).
I don't know how to make music and I'm on this one
Ability is no barrier to entry!
wow.
thanks pichael. I influenced someone to make some music. I have peaked too early! I really wish I'd recorded that all perfectly now.
Seconding andyvine's comment - I have no idea how to play music, ability is no barrier at all, just make something that sounds good. How you get there is irrelevant.
also, the middle bit of zingdreams track is beautiful, reminds me of (latter) Mew a bit
really like the first two tracks n'all
Interesting
Soundcloud gave me a free pro upgrade and so I have full stats now
These 2 podcasts have been listened to in over 50 countries
that's not too bad is it?
That was nice of them.
Did they say why? What else does the upgrade let you see?
full stats
they didn't say why
I guess I've had a fair amount of traffic on there recently (about 1000 plays a month so far this year) plus I had a regular premium account and they're changing their premium account formats so I'm thinking this is maybe no /so/ much of an upgrade - maybe more a side step
dunno
but interesting to see the reach of the podcasts so far
good work, big man.
hey BITT
I just got the email about this as well. Must be everyone who is on the same plan we are. Can't look at it at home, but I am interested in those extra stats. Tragically enamored with numbers as I am.
File sizes for upload are limited to 2GB. Limited?! And I can *only* upload 30 hours of music a week.
Seems I have been doing this all wrong
I used my upgrade to give my stream a little nostalgia bump
I put together a little compilation of recordings from the last few years - Noise, Drone, Acoustic, Doom, Electro. A wide range or a mess, depends on your take of it. I don't think it all sounds like total shit either.
http://soundcloud.com/meatbreak/sets/saturations
Episode 3 coming this week
anyone want to recommend me something I may have missed?
I'd like to submit something, but they're all sketches as yet so I might wait for number 4.
Yay! These are fun :)
Gonna throw these keys in the bowl
https://soundcloud.com/mashemon/06-kompressor
Keys in the bowl? You make it sound so cheap
I like Mashemon though
Finally got the chance
to listen to the January and February instalments. Great work everyone!
T.O.Y. is terrific, BITT.
Thank you

be the paperboy and spread the news - ta
Cool
Will listen in a bit! I'm sure it will be ace
Although also pffffffttttt for non inclusion!
Cheers
X
sorry man
I got totally snowed under - had about 50 artists to chose from for this one, loads of people sent stuff
No worries!
I wouldn't want to embarrass anyone
:P
to sound like a dick
we just post a link in here, if we want to submit something, right? Been working on some stuff recently and think I'll have a bunch of stuff finished sooon enough.
you can post a link in here yes
or if you want to be a bit more discreet you can send me a note/pm but this month I have discovered that notes can be easily overlooked - the same goes for emails but if you want to mail me an mp3 I can be found via mutually[dot]assured[dot]production AT g mail
That's awesome
thanks so much!
nah man, thank you!
Such a lazy hazy Syd Barret vibe on your stuff, love it
you missed Severed's Great Cop
and they're out on tour too! Next time :)
yeah
I know
I kind of set my self the rule of maximum 12 tracks & 45minutes as I figured anything more/longer than that would be too much for people to digest
do you think that's too short?
no.
sorry pressed enter too soon
my podcast aims for 60 but i talk a bit more. 45 mins is perfect tbh.
Is there anyway to download soundclouds to listen offline?
Just click on the download button
zing!
Ah, i rarely use it on the site just the mobile app...
didn't know you'd enabled it. Sweet. <3
TWO Her Parents tracks?
Why don't you just go ahead and release the whole album! ;-)
:d
in fairness
they are, in total, half as long as most of the songs on the podcast
:D
Yeah, not a surprise going by Physical Release. I've had to play that twice to get through a commute home.
exciting!
my internet was pretty dead yesterday - maybe to do with the cyber war that's going on.
Going to listen now. wooo!
COWTOWN!!!!
love it all up to Stickboy
and then it keeps crashing on me at that point. Trying to play it on my phone and it won't behave. I will have to wait until tonight to hear the rest at home. boo. I was enjoying that.
The Oxo Foxo track is funny. Punting. tee hee.
you ain't missing much
don't be like that
having a bad day?
Ha!
I specifically meant my track not everything there after!
Self depreciation and all that.
never mind being self-deprecating
your stuff's good
give it a repost on your timeline and your social media and be proud
mashemon's really cool!
amazing stuff guys :]
this makes for great listening on long walks, cheers
Some Phenominal stuff on this one!
That Timothy song was awesomely woozy and nice, sorta reminded me of Alfie in a weird way.
Plus those drums on 606 pianos I could probably listen to forever!
Genuinely love these
BITT track reminds me of Fujiya & Miyagi in a good way!
Fujiya & Miyagi ?
really? hmm
thanks
Nice work BITT...
...how can I submit a track?
ta
http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4424334#r7421167
Ta.
Long thread is long.
Indeed
One wonders what it'll look like come December
These are fantastic.
Some real talent on these here boards. Who knew??
The last 45 minutes absolutely flew by. Bit gutted when it finished.
Fave tracks from across all three:
Pesto - Cuckoo - The bottom-stringy lead guitar line between the verses has been lodged firmly in my head since I first heard it. Proper earworm.
Adam Russell - Piety - My jaw dropped on first listen. So expansive. Feels like being slowly launched into the air, reaching the apex and having a moment of complete serenity, and then hurtling ground-ward again. Moving stuff.
Meatbreak - Cutting a Drop of Water Pinned by Wire Loops Using a Superhydrophobic Surface and Knife - Mmmmmm.... texture. There's a satisfiying grainy-ness throughout which seems to alter ever so subtly depending on the depth of the bassy sound underneath. Liked it, and will certainly be investigating further.
Pseudo Nautilus - Exeunt Omnes Possibilities - Williams Basinski's Disintegration Loops applied to a Godspeed You! Black Emperor master tape. Could zone out to this kind of stuff all day long.
Lumieres - Hail Mary - It's got that same kind of buzzy, circular melody as Brian Eno's The Big Ship, where you're not sure at points if it's still ascending or descending. It's also totally fucking banging.
Body in the Thames - Disconnect Yourself - Sounds so laid back and effortless despite the intricacy. I get slight flavours of Talking Heads from somewhere deep within it, though i can't tell where. Utterly original.
Autoflag - Frankenstein's Monster Destroys Wigan Pier - At first I thought I'd accidentally started a different track on another player when the bass came in, everything is kind off-kilter and out of sync. Skillfully brought together by the end though. Is noise-funk a thing? It is now!
Cowtown - Nightbeats - Cowtown are just ace, period.
I heavily dig the moments where B_I_T_T goes all DJ Cheesy Voice and ups the echo :) It's so completely out of character from the prevailing softly-softly tone of voice that real laughing has burst out of my stomach on each occasion.
In short, more please!
terrific post
and I'm pretty sure I speak for plenty of others here when I say that THAT is the kind of response that makes doing any of this worthwhile
thanks
thanks for the mention
Really pleased that track has caught your imagination. It's a shameless Caretaker/Stars of the Lid rip-off, but I think I marked it with my own scent
Thanks again. If anything, I am finding these CPR sessions to be immensely motivating.
Ah cheers
Quite pleased with having invented a genre, too
:)
The pleasure is all mine. I'm being handed a shitload of ace new music to dig into which would almost certainly pass me by otherwise. That post was just a token of my appreciation.
In reply to B_I_T_T there ^
Didn't really like it tbh
like the endless jagging of it even less.
what didn't you like about 'it' ?
what did you listen to?
what would you rather hear?
I mean
there's 3 podcasts with 33 artists/bands with a pretty broad range of musical styles
you didn't like any of them? you don't like the format? you don't like the sound of my voice? what?
Wait, wait, wait...
There must be, what.... well over 2 hours of music spanning an unbelievably varied landscape of genres, and you claim not to like 'it'?
Somebody is being a contrary mary, aren't they!
*sticks bottom lip out*
shame he's not going to answer
I'm genuinely interested
endless jagging
is a bit unreasonable, since it only gets promoted the once in this one thread, when it's done. Then people talk about it. Seems fair enough to me.
in fairness
there is another thread on the social board that I bump for a day or two around the time of each new podcast
but that's hardly excessive
and in any case what would be the point of doing the thing if I didn't actually go to the effort of trying to get people to listen? everybody benefits from the exposure, surely?
I can understand if Overtakenbytractors had come in here and said 'alright guys, it's just a podcast, no need to jerk each other off' it might make him a dick or a killjoy but if you take a step back it might also be a semi reasonable comment - it isn't sacred ...and criticism is important after all
but I am interested in what he finds objectionable; I'm not necessarily going to change anything or agree with what he says but who knows? his comments might be useful if he could actually make some, it might open up some new dialogue and new possibilities and that's always a good thing
actually
I reckon I might take the opportunity to endlessly JAG it by dropping links into every thread for the next fortnight
yeah
yeah
let's do it
this is a bit weird
considering what BITT is doing here is promoting and finding a new way to present music created by this community. As Sean has said before, it's completely what this site is - perhaps should be - about, and I think the level of jagging going on is pretty modest. If anything I'm surprised it isn't promoted with an article on the main site itself.
I'm sorry, but you come across as kind of douchey with a post like this
can you at least give a reason *why* you don't like it? Just seems a bit off considering how much work goes into something like this.
Not sure people should be getting so precious over one person's comment.
When you create anything you have to be prepared to take criticism. The listener has no duty to be particularly constructive. He doesn't like it, he'll have his reasons, maybe he just doesn't think the music's very good, or like the way it's been put together. He's already said he doesn't like the way it's constantly jagged. He's not necessarily wrong just because his opinion's in the minority, and he doesn't have to expand on his thoughts, it's just not for him, but plenty of other people like it, so rather than trying to bore him into submission, just accept his judgement, in the grand scheme of things it's not really that important. Just because someone's put work into something doesn't mean people can't be dismissive of it. People have to have broader shoulders, i'm afraid.
And lo, discussion was eliminated from the world.
I just think it's a bit off dropping into a thread, saying you don't like something
then not even giving a reason why, even after all the responses he has gotten. It's like he did it just because he knew he'd get a reaction out of it. And as dead_fred pointed out, this is a music discussion forum after all.
my shoulders are broad and I welcome criticism, in fact encourage it
see...http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/music/4424334#r7424396
people have reacted in they way they have to his post not because they can't accept or share his 'judgement' but because he hasn't offered any judgement - in the context of this thread it's a blunt heckle
*see...

I wonder why kik chose to use this login instead of forzaborza?
Ok, here's my one-off 'endless JAG'
Moth Effect - https://soundcloud.com/moth-effect/sets/1975-ep
BIIT, if you get the chance to fit one of the tracks in, thanks! Keep up the good work.
cheers for the link
I'll check it out

I listened to your previous stuff from the other Soundcloud thread. This ep is great.

Have only just noticed this - thank you very much for including me!
Will have a listen to the podcast tonight...
hello
welcome in
Will the next podcast have the fantastic
'Here's the Drop?' facility?
sadly not
but how will we know where the drop is?
your mum knew where every last drop was
:''D / D'':
sorry
yumpin' yimminy!
that said, I did just laugh quite a bit at that
and then my mum asked why I was laughing
Will give this a listen this evening, and let you know what I think guys
Really enjoyed the first two. I'll pass it on to some musically minded people who are on DiS too.
Just listened earlier today.
Really good stuff throughout.
Gonna have to try and catch Her Parents when they playing in town in May.
That oxo foxo track is standout, too. And other stuff. Woot!
With any luck no.4 should drop this week or early next
and when I say luck I mean if I can find some time - it's gonna be tight
excellent news
looking forward to installation vier.
Don't forget worrier1 is a DiS user with an incredible band. They're not hobbyists though, although I know that's not the criteria for this. They might be interested.
worrier1 ?
Ghosting Season
aha
interesting
aww
thanks for the shout out!
yeah
time has been tight
hopefully it'll be up tomorrow
JAgedy JAG

New stuff posted. Nothing like the original song posted in the blog. Short and one simple riff messed with a bit.
I don't expect to get on it again, just using this space as a shameless JAG.

whoop!
looking forward to this - thanks for the inclusion.
Always nice to hear all teh talented dissers!
Cool stuff!
Thanks for including my track, probably the least noisy thing I've ever recorded haha. :)
yeah
little story; on Sunday I was listening through a ton of tracks in order to compile the podcast - I had the laptop plugged into the hi-fi and there was no one else home so it was quite loud
So I was in the middle of blissing out to strangely enough... when the landline rang
it was my gf's grandad - he's 94 years old and it's a bit tricky talking to him on the phone cos his hearing isn't great and he doesn't speak Swedish that often (he's Estonian)
so we exchanged pleasantries and began some stilted small talk when suddenly (obviously) the track finished and moved onto bytebeat psy-gabber experiment example https://soundcloud.com/cementimental/bytebeat-psy-gabber-experiment
:S
ouch
he whimpered on the other end of the line
:D
sorry about that ^__^;
not your fault fella
I should have known better
This is great, really enjoyed the bits in here, although my phone signal didn't allow me to complete the entire thing on my daily commute. Working on that.
Thanks for the inclusion.
cheers man
good to have you on board
ooh
some really good stuff this week (like, it's all good, but aqueous bassy stuff that I'm into).
ambient droney Cementimental track!
(it's really good).
(I mean, of course).
Top stuff!
Loving that Falling Stacks track.
Something almost relaxing from Cementimental too :)
The sheer variety of music on display continues to grow. I can't agree enough with your closing comments, B_I_T_T.
Cheers for the spin, by the way :) Can't wait for the next one!
Been a bit late on this
as this is the first time I've been on the DiS boards in a while, but just wanted to say I think it's a ruddy awesome idea. Great work! Oh, and don't forget our brothers (and sister) Her name is Calla - they post on here as Calla.
good to have you on board
great stuff - hope you didn't mind that I made a bit of an edit on your track
...and I didn't know Her Name is Calla were on here too, ta for the tip
not at all!
11 minute synth wig outs are a bit much for a podcast ;)
don't I just know it!
Due to my hospitalisation this month
and the subsequent recuperation, it looks like DiSc CPR 5 is not going to hit the wires before the end of May. With a bit of luck I can get it done this weekend though so it won't be too too late
use the space below or mail me - mutually.assured.production [[[at]]] g mail [dot] com - if there's anything in particular you'd like to bring to my attention for inclusion ... whether it be your own work or someone elses
ta
in the meantime the previous 4 podcasts are here in a 'set' form;
https://soundcloud.com/body-in-the-thames/sets/dis-cpr
it would be great if as many people as possible could 'share' that page on their social media and 'repost' it on their Soundcloud etc
thanks very much :)
I have a newish song here:
https://soundcloud.com/rabbitmilkband/rabbit-milk-underweight
I'd like to be considered. Thank you :)
I'd like to be considered too please
https://soundcloud.com/base-stacking/finding-faith-in-humanity
It's my first attempt at this type of thing
cheers guys
I'll check these out
Here's a track of mine for your consideration
https://soundcloud.com/atrium0509/elevate
Cheers!
Love the drums on this
Great work.
Thank you!
I've downloaded your EP and it sounds great. An excellent performance.
Afternoon
Hope you're recovering well, I would very much love to be included again if that sort of thing is okay...I've just put out a new EP:
http://adamvallance.bandcamp.com/album/left-ep
Or can stream the title track on Soundcloud:
https://soundcloud.com/adam-vallance
still not done this yet
so keep your suggestions coming ta
what happened?! are you okay
I'm OK now
this happened though
http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4430344#r7500091
and
http://drownedinsound.com/community/boards/social/4430399#r7502236
which has put me back a few weeks
jesus christ! well, i am glad you're on the mend and back to your regular activities
looking forward to may! :-)
cheers
:)
It's looking more & more like DiSc CPR 5 will be a May/June combo
So I might bend the rules a little and go to an hour or more
Might even play several tracks from the same artist
don't bend your own rules.
Keep it shorter, makes for a more satisfying listen if we're kept wanting more. Then you'll have some tracks saved over for the next one too. Stockpiling. Will make your life a bit easier.
I'm working on a couple of things, so maybe I'll have something to submit for the next next one....not this next one....!?!
but then I'll have to do two in pretty short succession
hmm
How do I go about getting a song included in this kind of thing?
Here are some I did recently when I was bored.
https://soundcloud.com/photonicboom/photonic-boom-nicotine-ethanol
https://soundcloud.com/photonicboom/powdered-confidence
And heres one I actually produced properly with electronics and stuff
https://soundcloud.com/complications/tabula-rasa-original-mix
cheers
I'll check these out
I know you've got a bit of a backlog going on...
But would be happy to be added to the 'to-be-considered' list now our EP is finished. Thanks, BITT!
