Get Me Bodied
Freakum Dress

Ring the Alarm
Naughty Girl

Single Ladies
Video Phone
Love On Top
Countdown
Lay Up Under Me
Schoolin Life (pastiche but way more fun than Losing You imo)
he's always arse at that, its just the way her voice sounds, the odd hook and the beats. Single Ladies is prob up there with Video Phone because of that too.
-this is a better SONG- thing. Beat, vocal performance, phrasing, lyrics, melody etc are all parts of a song. I guess it depends on which of the these things appeal more to your own personal taste.
Individual vision gets lost and diluted in the mire of opinion. Most of my favourite music comes from bands with one or two visionaries, and the less outside influence between the brain and the track, the better.
I'll always maintain that individually people are quite smart, and their stupidity increases proportionate to the size of the group. See picture codpieceface linked to below.
I had other songs that I love by Beyonce but I tried to list songs that I would realistically rank higher than Losing You. Like Halo is cool but I like LY better for sure.

hash tag, really?
Nope.
But it's still amazing.
Exactly
it's really good, but it's hardly single ladies.
This is a very false statement, drake.
Go on, prove me wrong!
Well do you WANT to be proven wrong?
Like, do you already not like Beyonce?
I really like Beyonce.
She's just never been 'Losing You' good, sorry.
The song is good but very slight compared to Beyonces strongest work.
Its very 80s and indie-bating with the video/styling and all.
Well it has synths. And the video is neither here nor there!
And you still haven't singled out any specific Beyonce work that trumps it. And if you say' Crazy In Love' I'll scream.

Well I still love you obviously.
WELL THEN:
Irreplaceable
Upgrade U
Get Me Bodied
Freakum Dress
Deja Vu
Ring the Alarm
Naughty Girl
Me Myself and I
Single Ladies
Video Phone
Love On Top
Countdown
Lay Up Under Me
Schoolin Life (pastiche but way more fun than Losing You imo)
Aw man, do me a favour,
none of them come close. There's some great stuff there but the fact you've included trash like Video Phone....
THE BASSS!
Video Phone is prob the best thing shes done
it just bangs even with Lady Gaga on it, that shouldn't even be possible!
Yeah the song smashes.
nonsense.
good production but the song itself is weak as feck. best thing about it is actually the video, in which she looks AMAZING.
Songs aint the thing with Beyonce tho
he's always arse at that, its just the way her voice sounds, the odd hook and the beats. Single Ladies is prob up there with Video Phone because of that too.
I'll go along with that.
Which is why 'Losing You' is a far better song than her solo career has managed to muster up.
songs are over rated
its all about the beats haha
:D
But seriously you have to explain this
-this is a better SONG- thing. Beat, vocal performance, phrasing, lyrics, melody etc are all parts of a song. I guess it depends on which of the these things appeal more to your own personal taste.
All of those things coming together and playing offf each other perfectly to create a whole that is better than the sum of the parts.
And also something that creates a certain mood and would still hold up if it was covered by a spotty 16 year-old on Youtube.
Idk, ask Burt Bacharach.
The song just reminds of a Debbie Gibson
single just a little too much.
Beyonce tracks can't ever be more than the sum of their parts
Because even the simplest vocals & beat ones have about 20 writers each.
What difference does it make how many writers
there are, or if the vocalist wrote it or not?
yeah
no ones ever accomplished anyting in a group.

Well, it's the too many cooks thing.
See picture codpieceface linked to below.
as if you don't like dinosaur buildings
you philistine.
What's the favour?
keep on rocking in the free world
I can do that.
---none of them come close----
WHUUUUUUUT
That's without even mentioning Sweet Dreams...
Never liked the melody on that one :/
Her vocals arent my favorite on that either.
I had other songs that I love by Beyonce but I tried to list songs that I would realistically rank higher than Losing You. Like Halo is cool but I like LY better for sure.
Beyonce deep cuts
Those are mostly really massive singles there.
Would you even like this song if the video didn't look the way it does?
I only just watched the video for the first time when I started this thread!
Heard it on Music Weekly, downloaded it, listened obsessively walking around town during lunch for about two months. So ja.
Fair enough, wasn't a dig.
I know!
as an opinion it's perfectly valid
She dances like she's Beyonce's dad
Not her sister.
She is a hero.
Anybody else off to XOYO next week?
Quite possibly.
Song-wise, I still prefer Everything Is Embarassing
But as far videos go, I don't think I've loved B as much as I love Solange in this one. She's adorable.
can't help but feel there's a bit of anti-indie kneejerkism in this thread
Maybe, I do like the song a lot.
I think there is some obv bate from the other side as well saying that it is EASILY better than ANYTHING beyonce has EVER done, you know.
Nothing knee jerk about my opinion either. I've been sitting with the song for months, thinking about it intently every day.
;) actually i'm just weakly trying to fuel it myself
but my heart isn't really in it. i just got sucked in by grouchland's hashtag
Maybe if she got rid of that annoying vocal loop in the background.
it's the best part!
It's no Sex Karma
My threads are better than anything KiK's ever done.
But seriously
Nah. It sounds like a washed-up Whitney Houston Christmas single from 1988.
If so and so did it
It'd be number one etc etc
I like it, I think it's good. But Countdown's better.
I really like that Solange track
but you do realise it's Holiday by Madonna right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X7RyGBq2E8
