but probably also the best - his last two are really good listens, they're just not especially relvolutionary, I'm sure this'll be in the same vein with Visconti on board.
MBV will probably be enjoyable, I don't think anyone's really expecting it to break any new ground, in a way despite everything I think expectations are relatively modest for it, which could be to its advantage.
Daft Punk will be shit but they'll presumably play some live shows that will make up for this fact.
20 odd years to follow up one of the most revered alternative records ever, at least with Bowie and Daft Punk they've released stuff in the last decade that has been a little less than great so people won't be as dissapointed if the records are not brilliant.
People who are really good at making shoegaze, making shoegaze. It might not be revolutionary or up to the standard of their first two, but what can really go wrong? *JINX*
Bowie will be solid, but unspectacular. Broadsheet music sections will say it's the best record he's put out since the 70s, but only hardcore fans will listen to it beyond the end of the year.
Daft Punk kinda seem to have timed their comeback to perfection; house is back 'in', and America seems to be indiscriminately consuming all the dance music it can get it's hands on. Could go either way, but there's not a lot to suggest they've got another bunch of massive hits in them, certainly nothing that has the impact Discovery did. I'm gonna say that'll be the dud.
The Avalanches
daftpunk
Im forever disappointed with them post '97
the answer is always Weezer
:(
Actual new Daft Punk album
Or are they doing the soundtrack to Flight of the Navigator 2 or sumink?

Davy B's will be the worst
But does anyone actually expect it to be great? MBV have the most to lose
Bowie's will be the worst
but it will get the best reviews. Every new Bowie album is reviewed as if it's a triumphant return to form even when it isn't.
I, the eternal optimist, refuse to partake in this thread

For a moment there I got excited
And thought that these were the Glastonbury headliners!
...walk into a bar
By the time they've decided what they want to drink, the bar is closed & nobody cares anymore.
Bowie says
"I haven't had a decent pint since the late 70s"
Shields orders a cocktail and spends the next 20 years remixing it
Strong
Bowie will be the most overhyped
but probably also the best - his last two are really good listens, they're just not especially relvolutionary, I'm sure this'll be in the same vein with Visconti on board.

Apparently their new album (out this year)
Will be amazing, despite having no drums.
Who'd of thunk it?

I don't know how many times I've explained to you all that Radiohead aren't releasing an album this year. An EP maybe, but come on.
You should probably start a thread about it
:')
