Sugar - Copper Blue
Something mentioned in another thread made me check this out. And I can honestly say first listen it may be one of the best things I've ever heard. So lets have a thread praising it and potentially recommending similar things. Changes sounds like one of the best melodic rock songs ever to these ears.

my band are (probably) gonna cover Sugar for a collection of songs from 1993
there you go
It was recently reissued with good reason.
The poppy stuff is marvellous, but The Slim and Slick are my favourites. You must try Beaster as the follow up. F.U.E.L. is a good final album but Copper Blue is truly outstanding. One of many reasons why a lot of DiSers have fond memories of the early ninetees.
I love Hüsker Dü
but give me Copper Blue over any of their albums. Hoover Dam <3333
this album rocks
that's all there is to say really.
amazing they were a three-piece too
I think the drummer is really responsible for filling out the sound in a way that hides this fact.
The drummer is certainly responsible for filling something.
The exact same fill, every 4 bars, on every single song.
this album is the best!
'beaster' which is the ep that came out straight after is incredible as well. hadnt really heard of it until this summer (although id been a massive HD fan) when i read bob mould's autobiography which was real interesting.
Find it a bit boring these days, and F.U.E.L is awful.
BEASTER BEASTER BEASTER BEASTER BEASTER every time for me thx.
Saw him play copper blue last year
It was bloody brilliant. But yeah this and Beaster. Massive.
Excellent album
The guitar is really high in the mix which always makes me happy. The opening trio of songs are noisy and superb!
