Best charity shop finds
I picked up two June of 44 albums and Amon Duul II's Yeti for £4 in a charity shop today, and am feeling rather smug about it.

I got the soundtracks to...
... Halloween and the Thing on cassette from a library book sale, for free, a couple of months back.
Not found anything good in ages.
I love charity shop finds though. It feels good to find something in the mire of Robbie Williams and Stereophonics albums.
Think the last 2 cds I got from a chazzer were The Datsuns first album and a Black Sabbath one.
I got
Biffy Clyro's Thekidswhopoptoday CD (ep from 2000) and Coldplay's Blue Room CD (1999) - both 99p; sold for £66 and £40 respectively a few years after purchase.
I used to work just off Baker Street near GLR studios which had an Oxfam next door. So all the promo cds were chucked in there - absolute gold mine for stuff! But that was many years ago.
Set of 68 classical records for a tenner
Came in a proper case and everything.
i got psychocandy on vinyl
for £1.99. good nick too
that God Machine album
folks i think the thread just got won
what's it even called?
the one with 'in bad dreams' on it. It was in a Library clearance sale. I think about 4 people had borrowed it in 10 years.
Tangerine Dream - Atem [vinyl]
Terry Riley - A Rainbow In Curved Air [vinyl]
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock [cassette]
Kenickie- At The Club on cassette
99p
Lush - Lovelife
50p on cassette tape, and when I got it home realised it was signed on the inlay by all the band.
Final Fantasy 7
for like 99p
this isn't the social board
Cousteau
Original debut album which only sold a few hundred copies, & was subsequently rerecorded for a new label. Original copy in a charity shop for 2 quid. When the rerecorded album came out I went to see them do an in-store at Borders & got them to sign it, & even the band themselves were amazed to see someone with a copy. "Ah you're the one who bought it!" they joked. Nice fellas.
couple of papa m 7inch records for a quid each, can't even remember where that was though
also got a nice shirt last night
Diva soundtrack on vinyl
99p
7" of a single by forgotten Swedish indie pop band Celeste
it was called 'You Should See Me In My Car'. I bought it cos I liked the cover. Turned out to be a lost classic, sounds like the best Boo Radleys stuff.
It seems like
the standard of charity ship vinyl has greatly decreased. It's all Mantovani, Max Boyce, and the occasional bit of Abba these days. My all-time best find is probably a mint condition copy of The Stone Roses debut for a quid, but that was years ago.
My little girl picked up a cd
because she liked the cover and begged me to get it for her, I looked and it was the second Econoline album! I was so proud.
LPs
Sebodah - Weed Forestin'
Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted
Melvins - Prick
probably the best things i've found.. all in the £3 or £4 bracket
Sebadoh
oops
Led Zep IV on Vinyl
£3 quid
I got Muse Muscle Museum ep in one once for a quid
and sold it for over £100. Jackpot
Talk Talk
All excellent condition vinyl:
Talk Talk - Colour of Spring
Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
All next to each other in the rack, £3.50 each
Not had much recently
But earlier in the year I had a good couple of weeks at my local oxfam ang got Bowie Hunky Dory, Aladdin Sane and Young Americans all in practically mint condition for 1.99 each and then Led Zepplin 3 also in mint condition for 2.99. Oh and I had New Order Lowlife last month in the best second hand condition I've ever seen (the outer see through paper sleeve has no rips or tears and isn't all grubby) that cost me £4
Bark Psychosis - Hex
Coverless sadly, but vinyl in good nick. Goes for over a ton but a quality album.
From the last few months...
