New Future of the Left
Dunno if there has been anything posted with regards to this, but their recent tour EP is now available. It seems to have slipped out with little/no fanfare

I'm fine with download only if it's cheap enough

the tagging is very annoying
nice little ep though. They played Future Child Embarrassment Matrix last monday. It was good

I could just read a huge list
full of FOTL song titles, just for fun. They should print a book.

Did I read in one of Falco's blog posts that he was trying to write a book
or was that just a wonderful dream? I would be all over that.

I just found another new song here
from a radio session a few months ago:

Yeah this is really great
Prefer a few of the tracks to stuff on the LP maybe.
Fucking love EPs...

Not being a dick but
I'm enjoying this as much if not more than the album. Found 'Plot' a bit overlong, gruelling and rigid-sounding. Guessing that was due to its extended writing period which I know wasn't their fault.
Anyway, there's a loose-ness and joy here that I really hope finds its way onto an album. 'Johnny Borrel Afterlife' could be the best thing they've ever ever ever done, and places highly on the growing list of Songs Far Too Good Not To Be On Albums (see: New Adventures, My Wife is Unhappy and With Apologies to Emily Pankhurst)
To Conclude; Would love a shorter, poppier, more fun album from them in 2013.
If you're a casual fan or liked Curses and Travels (or Plot!) there's no better place for that spare £2.99.
Sample lyric from Johnny Borrel Afterlife:
'suit yourself
there’s nothing like a military coup
THE CLOTHES ARE GREAT
AND EVERY BODY LOVES A CURFEW!ROY!
JUST A BOY, JUST A BOY
WITH THE BIG-GEST HEAD IN SCHOOL' -
Yeah I thought Plot was sliiiiiightly overlong (albeit still great)
It could do with losing a song or two, maybe Camp Cappuccino and Anchor? Although My Wife Is Unhappy and Johnny Borrell Afterlife probably would have made pretty good replacements if we're keeping it the same length (and the other two would have made pretty good EP tracks as a result).
New Adventures isn't one of my favourites musically but it might just be their best set of lyrics ever.

I sorta know what you mean
Taken on their own merits I love many of the songs on 'Plot...' but it hasn't quite ever clicked as much as the previous LPs. Admittedly those two records are amongst my favourite ever. I think it's a really good record but the spontaneity and zip of these demos is actually more to my liking too.
Hope some of them make it into a future live set or get a proper release as it'd be a shame if they got lost...

I am liking this
very much.
bit more jangly and slightly less furious than a lot of the newest album - really enjoying it.
