So, i've got 535 albums to listen to in 5 days...
if i'm to get my Album of the Year lists done.
Normally get through this list (http://www.albumoftheyear.org/ratings/overall/2012/1), ticking things off as and when they're released.
This year, though, only listened to about 25 new albums, sadly.
At the start of October, i started working my way through the list, and got through 160 in a month. In November, i haven't listened to a single album.
I'm not entirely sure 107 alblums a day is doable.
Even if i allow myslf until the end of the calendar year, that's still about 15 a day, not allowing for December releases.
I guess i'm posting this for two reasons. Firstly, to give myself a boot up the arse, but secondly, to warn you in advance that the final lists might not be absolutey definitive.
Pleasure.

That is a large number
you can trim that right back, surely? Even getting through 500 in a whole year is pushing it, that is more than one new record a day. I load up my mp3 player with just the music of the current year in around Novembertime, I only have about 40 on there at the most!
-
try playing them 10 at a time
I'm sure your subconscious will be able to sort them for you.
a bit like this - they might even all sound better together

at 20 seconds a track to decide if a song is any good
and surely no more than 3 songs an album to decide if the album is worth listening to all the way through, you should be able to get through these in no time.
-
that's pretty much how I do my job.
helps if you skip the opener, and if track two isn't any good, try track seven or eight. Gives you a quick taste if it's your sort of thing or not. -
i've got 535 albums to listen to
and a Bpitch Control release ain't one

this is insane
this is NO way to enjoy music.
-
who said anything about enjoying?
forza's dutifully fulfilling his public office.
