Quote about a hugely popular indie band using backing track for most of their live show...?

I've no bloody idea where I read this, but I was hoping someone here might know. It was a quote from some knowledgeable musician saying that some band who were popular enough (Mercury Prize level, but not actual Mercury Prize nominees) actually used a backing track for 90% of their live sound. The guitars and things on stage added only a tiny amount to the sound. It's for an article I'm writing. Help anyone?
