well no hipsters from where i was standing, and some good moshing, though the album is a little experimental for a good circle pit...the gig was great for the 3 people that care about music, rather than just tits. Their earlier stuff was jerkier and had more 8-bit style synths, which made songs like Film Noir and Beatrotter quickly accessible and really fun. The downside of this was that very few tracks were actually cohesive. Fofteen, for example, has some great bits, but they're all welded awkwardly together, with very little flow. When the band tried to do synthey, quieter passages, meanwhile, they dragged it out too much (see: the 14-minutes of Fantasia).

Their more recent work is structured much better. They've also got a lot better vocally, with call-and-response sections and a lot more singing from Eva. The trade-off is that there are fewer surprises. Astraea is still heavy, but it never chucks out a crazy jazz-guitar widdle or a Nintendo jam. The more expansive, synth-led bits, though, have got a LOT better - you can tell how much they've been listening to M83, and how good they've gotten at cooking up keyboard bloops and tones. Cosmology and Illuminaire are the best examples.

I'd say the band hit their peak somewhere between these two stages, where they managed to combine the spazziness with good song writing. Tracks like Abraxas, Scabs and Party Wounds are incredible.

IN CONCLUSION. They're definitely still worth paying attention to. And they're great fun live.

I didn't realise Rolo Tomassi were still going. Might give the new one a listen, never really enjoyed the first album but it seems as though they might have moved on a bit from then.
