Hello. So after the not-that-numerous-but-fairly-enthusiastic response to this idea, found in this thread:

It looks like we’re going to do this. Or I’m going to try and get people to do it, bump this thread lots and end up annoying everyone.

Want to enter? All you need to do is write and record a demo of a Christmas song – of any standard – and upload it to the brans spanking new soundcloud group here:

All standards welcome, especially the scrappier type.

No real rules but try and make it a Christmas song in some way, no point otherwise.

Please submit by FRIDAY 21st DECEMBER 2012

however - I need to get a decent microphone as the only one I have access to is embedded in my laptop, might end up being a lofi solo acoustic guitar thing (hmm)

Hi there. My song is on the sc group page (http://soundcloud.com/groups/decembers-dis-soundcloud-challenge-then). It's called "C'est Noël (It's Christmas)" (http://soundcloud.com/guillaume-13/cest-noe-l-its-christmas). The lyrics (in french, sorry :() are about catching a fairy around a christmas tree and caroling... well that's what's written because the words can sound like something totally different (if you have a perverted mind...). Hope you'll like it! G

mine's now up there as "Rosaline's Party" by PalkoPalko. I was aiming for a mix of Siouxsie's "Something Blue", a bit of Richard Hawley, and "The Gift" by The Velvets, but it just sounds like the bleeding Antlers. All done on my iPhone. Pretty chuffed with it, must say!
