Holly Herndon
Are any of you DiS knowledgables wise to Holly Herndon? I've only heard FADE but it's pretty great:

Maybe for fans of Laurel Halo, I dunno, I feel like they're exploring similar areas. That's probably a terrible reductive comparison. Sorry.
New LP coming soon on RVNG Intl (home of those Frkwys collabs. and the latest Julia Holter record) I believe. Anyone heard it...?
Go on, enlighten me

This girl sounds promising
like what I've heard so far, look forward to hearing the album
-
Fade is really amazing
In the best moments reminded me of "Silent Shout".
-
Ta for the link, I'm having a first listen of this now
it's pretty remarkable
-
Just heard a few clips on Boomkat...
Really good!
-
Absolutely brilliant
It took me 7 minutes 6 seconds of listening to buy the vinyl and some of that was because I forgot my Boomkat password
-
Yeah
Included one of her tracks on my weekend listening thing a little while back. I really like Kate Wax-ish half the album, not sure I adore all of it, little bit too synth nerd in places. She's a very interesting artist tho, would love to see her live.
SCROTUM this'd this -
She's getting around a bit
Interviews in last month's Wire and now FACT and Pitchfork.
The album is a delight, a mixture of abstract stuff and then really great techno tracks. Similar kind of mixture to Julia Holter's Tragedy.
-
Listened to the album after reading about her on FACT the other day
Really really taken with it.
-
I think the more 'abstract' ones are AMAZING esp breathe & terminal
not as fussed about the normal sounding ones. I wish it wasn't true. I think it must be because i've been on drownedinsound for too long or something
-
Fade is incredible
it's on spotify now as well
