not that pleased with any of them. one of mine got played on a japanese internet radio podcast though, which is pretty cool:
http://soundcloud.com/himtube/whisperkiss-for-hatis
linky!
this is ace
can see why Japanese radio might like it, the end especially reminds me of Hakobune. lovely stuff
aw thanks :D
Most pleased by in a very specific way which doesn't mean it's the 'best' track or anything like that
http://soundcloud.com/cementimental/ncontrollable-rge
:-S Haha it's pretty much the only track I didn't 'write'
Good rule reading there u_u;
OK this one instead:
http://soundcloud.com/cementimental/clouds-sends-villagers-fleeing
clatter 'em upside the heid
I got so many different types of things up there
but maybe this. Just for the "guitar interplay" or some such wank
http://soundcloud.com/theseaatnight/only-my-bones
I enjoyed this.
Thanks loads
Link has changed as I've changed my name again.
http://soundcloud.com/seafolk/only-my-bones
My cloud is a mess...
...so I should prolly sort it out!
Been dusting off old songs lately and quite pleased with how this one came out:
http://soundcloud.com/jonathan-warren/infinty-acoustic-at-king-of
I still only have one track
http://soundcloud.com/styrofoamboots/wax-crayons-run-rabbit
Going to do some more in the very near future though hopefully
oh man, this is pretty much the kind of thing I've been trying to write for ages
simple and direct, but not too basic. Also catchy as hell. Good job
Thanks for the kind words!
Is your band that you posted further down still going? That track is sweet.
yeah, we go to different unis so it's sometimes hard to meet up and actually write/record stuff
but t's an ongoing thing, maybe gonna actually gig and do a proper demo next summer
I'll throw my keys into the bowl
http://soundcloud.com/mashemon/01-kompressor
wtf! I recognise that voice
Some reckon he sounds a bit like
Phil Oakey, David Byrne or Jim Morrison.
is that your voice?
it sounds a bit Josh Homme-y
Here you go
http://soundcloud.com/atrium0509/elevate
I really hope to get some more tunes uploaded as it's been over a year since my last one!
cooooooooool!
sounds like a lo-fi Field. i like how it's a bit scratchy and ragged (that'll be the guitars). lovely droning in the background.
i've only got three up
also - fuck your rules
it's a fucked up billie piper track
http://soundcloud.com/oh-dude-1/girlfeinnndxxx
This is
Mental and Great!
ha
someone actually listened to it
:)
thanks!
This took me fucking weeks and has a lot of strings
http://soundcloud.com/bella-union/night-song-stairs-to-korea-remix
Similar vein
http://soundcloud.com/bella-union/the-kissaway-trail-beat-your-heartbeat-stairs-to-korea-remix
only thing of mine anybody likes
http://soundcloud.com/drmswk/the-moth
im on this one
http://soundcloud.com/whosadickheadthen/mrfist-fruit-and-veg-chronicles
Here you go
www.soundcloud.com/fallingstacks/husky
the stop-start is very Shellac
I am prepared to admit that....
....we may have heard of Shellac.
Love the Stranglers vibe of the track!
Thanks!
Not had that one before, but are delighted to have it now. Cheers.
This one
http://soundcloud.com/szdl/glass
It has been played on a podcast and everything! I must be famous now... (yeah right!)
Ok then.
http://soundcloud.com/snail_invasion/theory-of-a-real-good
takes a while to get going.
I think the last couple of minutes are pretty great, tbh.
This one gets generally good reception
http://soundcloud.com/pestotheband/gin-tonic
Though I really want to re-record the whole lot
Greygoose is still your best one imo
This..
http://soundcloud.com/gimnastic/flaw
Pteradactyl
http://soundcloud.com/tmothy/pteradactyl
spent ages on it then took out most of what I put in.
A good few years old now
but my favourite. Guitars are sampled from an acoustic track of mine too
http://soundcloud.com/vian/two-grammes-of-soma-original
This is brilliant!
The Sea is Full of Scary Things...
http://soundcloud.com/moth-effect/the-sea-is-full-of-scary
Needs mastering, mind you.
probably still this most happy with this one
http://soundcloud.com/commercialfreejazz/xerox-rinse
This one, although I prefer our 'teetering on the edge of injury' version we do live.
http://soundcloud.com/edinburgh-school-for-the/01-of-scottish-blood-and-sympathies
Oh hi.
I really love your band.
I'd say I'm probably most happy with this one.
http://soundcloud.com/complications/dramatic-irony
Irritatingly its the one that has the least amount of plays/comments, and technically I didn't play on it as its all electronic, but I suppose I inputted all of the MIDI if that counts? I'm currently making a new one which I think is a lot better produced, but that probably wont be done for a few days at least.
I didn't write this fully alone, the band added stuff as a collective
but I wrote the main structure of it:
http://soundcloud.com/great-cop/faint-light
this was the one that got played on da radio, yeah?
certainly is
my voice at the beginning there, blerg
hah, it's really good man
the chanted vocals kinda sound like Dananananakyrod to me
aye a couple people have said that
suppose the accents in particular, anyway, I can dig it, though really its my tribute to meneguar
belter!
hadn't heard anything since your room recordings!
hey thanks alot
we're playing with Metz on monday at art school, and hopefully/probably united fruit at the new captains venue next to sleazies a week on friday!
Still love this song
cheers!
we're starting to organise coming down south early next year!
This is by my old band.
I wrote it, sang and played guitar. It's not my favourite song I've ever written, but it's the best one on Soundcloud. It was recorded at Chem19 (Chemikal Underground's studio) with Jamie Savage (younger brother of Paul), who is amazing.
http://soundcloud.com/we-the-plural/loch-awe-i-will-drift-into/s-CZZ54
This is really good
MOAR POSTS PLEASE
What a create bunch we are. We're the talent Cowell. WE'RE THE 99%. WE'RE THE DIGNIFIED ARTISTS. We. Are. The. Due. Payers.
Thank you very much. :)
i've been thinking about doing a demo at Chem19 for ages
how was it? Good value/fun/interesting?
It was great fun. The studio has a great atmosphere
and Jamie was incredible to work with. If you can afford it then I'd recommend it wholeheartedly. On the other hand, don't expect to get more than one track a day done there. The reason everything done there sounds so good is because they take their time with it.
Big fan of this...
Thanks a lot. :D
It was basically just us copying Low...
Alrighty then
This is the first song I wrote, and i'm still quite pleased with the harmonies and stuff
http://soundcloud.com/pattisondaniel/daniel-pattison
out of all the ones I've uploaded...
this is probably my favourite -- http://soundcloud.com/mutebranches/dialog-guitars
My favourite effort (that's on Soundcloud) of me making a short track out of a long improvised recording, too!
I'll try and check some of these out, as well
I've started a blog where I write occasional short reviews of stuff I find on Soundcloud, so I'll inform you guys if I do that with any of yr tracks too
i dunno if this fits with your definition of written
but
http://soundcloud.com/ultimatepunx/stick-it
i played the guitar solo and some phone synth & bongos on it
and I think it's reasonably funny
ta da ...
http://soundcloud.com/weezerfan66/i-dont-want-to
I played guitar, sang and wrote the lyrics while my friend drummed, also sang and wrote the actual song. It's the most poppy/straightforward thing we've written yet, which is good and bad in different ways. Anyway, collaborate and listen.
This remix I did of Cast of Cheers a while back that they put on their myspace.
http://soundcloud.com/skellywager/derp-remix-1
I'm going to go for this:
https://soundcloud.com/meatbreak/04-they-will-follow-the-stick-if-it-has-a-good-beat
if only because someone once described it as "like Liars if they had infinite studio time". I'm also pretty pleased (self-satisfied?!) with the title of it.
I have heard a lot of all these tracks already from the other Soundcloud thread, and I have to say you are pretty much all posting the tracks I'd have picked of yours too. So, well done. or something.
now to go through and hear the ones I haven;t already.
p.s. be cool if y'all posted these tracks into this group:
http://soundcloud.com/groups/dis-music-forum-greatest-hits-vol-1
I second that
EXPENSIVE PRODUCTION
http://soundcloud.com/internetforever/break-bones
Well someone once told me they liked this one
http://soundcloud.com/therustyblues/06-the-road-acoustic
boosh
http://soundcloud.com/galleries/young-wounds
:)
Recorded mostly in my room
then my band played on it. Very proud of this:
http://soundcloud.com/termitesmusic/ammo
Bit early in the year so I'll probably be jagging this again in a month and a half
but definitely this thing I did for Darren Hayman's advent calendar last year...
http://soundcloud.com/fikarecordings/tonight-i-will-be-santa-paul
I'd say...
...probably this one...
http://soundcloud.com/neilmilton/elegy-for-tramway
this. i like to think its pretty unique and nice and fucking noisey
http://soundcloud.com/embersembers/tunnel-vision
Last thing we put on soundcloud at the start of summer...
Writing new stuff now.
http://snd.sc/XpoYXb
I'm not pleased with any of mine
not really, not fully
Who is? When you go back, you always see where things can be improved / changed. Must be a nightmare working solo all the time.
yep
it is
But your shit is goooood
oh ta,
but it's hard to single one out as being anything more than merely satisfactory - though I love 'em despite (or perhaps because of) their faults
I think this is my best so far
Nailed that kind of distorted guitar drone sound.
http://soundcloud.com/project-paradise/here-without-you
First post eeeek
quite pleased with this badgerr: http://soundcloud.com/lacesband/to-the-bone-sandpaper-hands
I just finished making this. It's all made with found sounds and m hammond organ with loads of effects layered
http://soundcloud.com/t_a_m/my-life-is-held-together-by
it feels a bit lacking but i'm working on it
http://soundcloud.com/urban-lighthouse/journey-to-find-the-ice-king
New Amy Blue track...!
http://soundcloud.com/eeevol/birthday-girl
Oddly proud of this one, it's a bit sonic youth-ey but distinctive Amy Blue style saves it from being a pastiche, really happy with how crunchy and bright the guitars are and JP's singing and lyrics are tops on this. We recorded this upcoming album about four times and it was only the last time it sounded how we wanted.
probably this
written in minutes last summer time
recorded into the internal mic of a laptop
you can hear my dog barking,, which is nice
It's called 'Trench';
http://soundcloud.com/mick_squalor2/trench
i wouldve picked the only song on the below myspace page
http://www.myspace.com/dingusordie
but it's not on soundcloud
fuck yeah mick squalor
kinda acoustic blur. i like it muchly. mine are all internal mic recordingz too, sounds quite nice on this one tho, homely like
I'll go with this one.
http://soundcloud.com/penguinskillpolarbears/01-valley
Calves
http://soundcloud.com/zapoppin/calves-1/s-NpZQ7 - we only use Soundcloud for demos. But I dig the micro-fi vibe of this take even if we choose to re-record it.
Triangle
Been played on BBC Radio Wales a couple of times which I got rather excited about.
http://soundcloud.com/shiny-tiger/triangle
This one here
Although I'd have posted my new one if it were finished.
http://soundcloud.com/heavy-resistance/breaking-the-seige
my band. Dragnet.
http://soundcloud.com/dragnetband/01-rex
Somebody should make a Spotify-style playlist of all these tracks
Wait. I have!
http://soundcloud.com/szdl/sets/disingles
The Next-Soundcloud thing is pretty great, isn't it? Perfect for things like this.
nicely done!
that's exactly what I need.
I did that so I could listen to it on the bus home
Turns out you can't listen to sets in the Soundcloud app :(
bummer
I am hitting play on this beast now.
NOW!
.
http://soundcloud.com/cutribbons/paper-shields
today, it's this one
it's a Nicki Minaj rip off about a 14th century Christian
it's a bloody racket
http://soundcloud.com/thefrozenembryos/the-frozen-embryos-put-me-in-a
This is my best perhaps.
Didn't have a band when I recorded it, so I had to play everything myself. Sort of like an evil/loud B52s: http://soundcloud.com/deathbyraygun/sheila-comes-back
Probs pretty amateur sounding compared to most of you lot
but we were pretty chuffed with it:
http://soundcloud.com/aquaticslime/sick-life
All I have on Soundcloud
Its my radio friendly hit single which just hasnt happened yet...
http://soundcloud.com/adam_clark/fairy-tales-false-idols
it's ok - if you like instrumental songs with guitars in and drums
http://soundcloud.com/lions-are-smrtr-than-i-am/hyperion
wrote this in '09 then went travelling and haven't done anything since. I like it tho
http://soundcloud.com/cryptogramsmusic/ghostin
actually id like an opinion on this...
dunno whether to get back in the game or not...
its lovely
wish i had your voice! spend a bit more time tuning up next time though ;-)
sweet.
tunings for pussies, better to cough and splutter over a cheap, badly tuned guitar. Joking aside, thanks, and I will!
i take it bandcamp is ok
http://thevelourias.bandcamp.com/track/the-people-vs-anne-doyle
this is my favourite from my band
http://soundcloud.com/ourmother/age-of-empirez-1
It's simple and the vocals
could do with re-recording, but I'm chuffed with it:
http://soundcloud.com/atomjar/independent-nations
band camp yeah
http://privateers.bandcamp.com/track/guard
everyone we play the EP to says this is the strongest
Quite pleased with this one,
everything comes together quite nicely I reckon.
http://soundcloud.com/littlewaves/01-lost
Fave from my band...
http://soundcloud.com/campstag/call-it-the-flame
Hi, totally new here, but I'm pretty happy with this one...
http://soundcloud.com/robargent/never-shards
Kinda Grouper lite.
Well..what can i say
Didn't write any of it...didn't play on it...not even a bandmember...but i did pay for the studio and produced the record...and of course i tried to ignore this topic but every time i open the DOS music forum it keeps popping in to my face...can not hold it back anymore...
Anyway: http://soundcloud.com/fervid-how/09-furry-little-animals
I always post at the wrong time
But this is probably the best of mine for now http://soundcloud.com/bamnan/tennis-elbow
1st solo song
Didn't know anything about the band Passion Pit before I titled the song: http://soundcloud.com/succi-1/sleepyhead
I'm getting where I want to go as a song writer, just need to get good as a musician :P
http://soundcloud.com/doggoneuk/everlasting-glow
Bear At The Bus Stop
http://soundcloud.com/neonhighwire/bear-at-the-bus-stop
Instrumental indie-electro. Errors-esque, I suppose.
Has an accompanying video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9n9KUNwV74
My band's first song...
It was our attempt at writing some kind of smooth pop song. It ended up sounded a bit like the xx, but with all the spaces filled in. As you can probably tell, it's also the first time we've ever tried to record a song:
http://soundcloud.com/isleofember/japanese-steel
If we're not allowed to do remixes then
I guess this is the one that I have the biggest soft spot for. It was kind of a break through for me to get the nice droney noises I was after and haven't really been able to recreate since
http://soundcloud.com/autoflag/thirty-one-ten-yeh
Have a gamble:
http://soundcloud.com/victoriesatsea/future-gold
1) Great great name
2) I like it
Post-hardcore sort of stuff
Pretty Girls Make Graves / Hot Cross-ish songs. We've got an album out early next year.
http://soundcloud.com/clubkissability/without-maps-naked-light
An Axe...
...'Ink'.
Very proud of it.
http://soundcloud.com/an-axe/ink
Mountain Schmountain - Fibres On The Frames
This is from an EP I made all by myself. Not sure if it's the best song, but it's certainly the first.
http://soundcloud.com/mountainschmountain/fibres-on-the-frames
[I happen to prefer bandcamp usually...]
http://mountainschmountain.bandcamp.com/track/fibres-on-the-frames
.
It's on Bandcamp not Soundcloud, but here's my old band:
http://audioscope.bandcamp.com/track/dissolve
ok then
http://soundcloud.com/rickdearg/dundret
I did everything on this including the singing. cheers and hails
pendulous
love it
what software do you use?
thanks!
I use ableton and guitar rig, that's it besides a few eq things and limiters
Not perfect but...
"Steve McQueen": http://soundcloud.com/sunnynorwich/steve-mcqueen
older, but still fave up on soundcloud
http://soundcloud.com/nobody_special/nobody-special-unlikely-well
I done did this
http://soundcloud.com/alonemusic/all-that-can-does
It got played on the radio too, made me dead happy.
I can see why - really good ebb and flow, IMO.
If you do end up re-recording it you should post here again to let us know.
here's mine
http://soundcloud.com/shapeworship/quilt-1
as featured on Dummy earlier in the week:
http://dummymag.com/new-music/2012/10/29/premiere-shape-worship-quilt/
One I did recently that I tried to make sound like an electronic version of deftones
It ended up sounding like Massive Attack with a weird sample of some mental russian guy on it. http://soundcloud.com/complications/matchbox
Still pretty happy with it mind.
Here's mine⦠Ice Sea Dead People
This is my favourite of our songs, I think. Probably because I'm not singing on it so when I first heard it, it felt like a completely different band. And it was the first time we tried disgusting atonal tunings.
'Ultra Silence'
http://soundcloud.com/iceseadeadpeople/ultrasilence
Ah Fuck It Here's a new project
It's the first I've got done, Kind of instrumental acoustic ambient stuff... Please just listen
https://soundcloud.com/static-king/arc
We Hear Owls - 'MASSIVE Hermit'
Probably my favourite of my current band project 'We Hear Owls'.
http://soundcloud.com/we-hear-owls/massive-hermit
Some shitty bedroom Electronica
Made using a some old crappy Yamaha keyoards, a 4 track, and a couple of the other things. Soz, it`s the best I can do. http://soundcloud.com/user532737/mindphaser-to-nowhere
