Can't wait for this.
Supported them when Red In Tooth and Claw was out, blown away. It's got pretty much everything I want in music- riffs, science references and you can dance to it. Boom.
I am very excited for this.
Those song titles are proper mental and the cover is terrifyingly bleak.
cool artwork
Just listened to wolfwrangler and it's an absolute beast.
Top stuff.
Yeah can't wait.
Red in tooth and Claw is fantastic if this is going to be anything like it I will be very happy.
Also thinking about getting a ticket for the last night for Richter.
Can only be a great night I imagine.
First time seeing that promo video.
Glorious stuff.
That woman. :|
terrifying.
Her mouth looks like it was used to drill for coal.
Have youns not heard of the god warrior?
My neighbour resembles her :/
This has fallen off the first page.
Just watched the teaser again - it's so brilliantly creepy. Love how it partly resembles the Alien titles at one point.
Top 3 BATS tracks?
1. Shadow-Fucking
2. The Cruel Sea
3. Gamma Ray Burst: Second Date
Christ that's a hard choice
Gamma Ray Burst: Second Date - put that on a mixtape for a sexy astronomer girl AND YER IN
Death to Kent Hovind - it's kinda meta, anthemic and i enjoy the sentiment
Andrew Wiles - literally math rock
cowcow idk any sexy astronomer girls :(
I could introduce a sexy girl to astronomy, then make her a mix with it on!
Forgot about Andrew Wiles - Joint first place that. DEADER THAN THE REST.
1. Death to Kent Hovind.
2.Gamma Ray Burst.
3. Andrew Wiles.
but BATS what i said!
yeah didn't really look at your post when I started writing.
What's the problem babes?
i just wanted to wordplay :(

ALL OF THEM
WHY ISN'T THIS OUT YET?!
1. Gamma Ray Burst
2. Credulous! Credulous!
3. These Ones Lay Eggs
Can't wait for this
They're launching it in Dublin on 20th October.

I posted on Chrome Hoofs facebook page suggesting they should play with BATS again in Dublin, Chrome Hood liked it. OMG guyz.

NEW SONG! WOLFWRANGLER
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgo7mYLCix4&feature=youtu.be
This is really nice.
Also great video.
I met girl who writes for Harmless noise and she said that they will have the album up there a few days before release. I think we should organise a listening party on plugdj or something.
I just noticed the inspiration for the title
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sleep_of_Reason_Produces_Monsters
There's supposedly a stream going to be uploaded today somewhere
MIBBES HERE? http://bats.bandcamp.com/album/the-sleep-of-reason
NEW
youtu.be/ZDYwRG-1ZOo
Think it is meant to be on Harmless Noise?
Not sure though.
Here is another new tune.
Really fucking good http://youtu.be/ZDYwRG-1ZOo
Not anymore.
It's a shame, they have been covering Irish music for a good while and I am sure this would have given them a massive boost.
https://twitter.com/harmlessnoise/status/257802584809680896
so this is even better than Wolfwrangler.
AWESOME. That bit where it all goes noisy and stuff = tops.
Stream is not until Wednesday now.
I keep hearing "I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANYTHING" during that riff. Are you going to the album launch? I shall be there with bells on.
bums. Oh well. I'll just replay this loads of times then.
Haha, me too!
Sadly not, I'm sure it will be a blast though!
As I mentioned earlier in the thread I left a comment on Chrome Hoofs page suggesting they play with BATS again.
They liked it, so has Rupert Morris of BATS. I would be the happiest man alive if that was to happen. It happened once, very possible that it could happen again.

via http://harmlessnoise.ie/2012/10/stream-new-album-by-bats-the-sleep-of-reason of course
Great notes on the album too
Glad to see they mirror what I thought it was largely about.
Been trying not to sing this records' praises myself too much just yet as I've been writing the review now for about 4 days solid and I'm conscious it's not out there, but now it is let me just say this; it's fucking ace.
Holy moly, this is good
The title track is pretty amazing eh?
This is proper awesome so far
Review is up

My last post about this band today, promise
BUT LOOK HOW FUCKING AWESOME THIS BAND PROMO SHOT IS
http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/602260_10151094021648365_190158727_n.jpg
love this quite a bit
Can't fucking wait for the gig tomorrow.
Listening to Cruel Sea Scientist again.
SO MUCH GOOD TUNES.
Album arrived today! :D
It's pretty dark huh
Anyone from here going to the launch gig tomorrow night?
Some nice support bands worth checking out.
I think I've listened to it enough now to opine
HOLY CHRIST THIS IS INCREDIBLE
I *did* need to listen to it through headphones for it to click right enough, mostly because of the "quieter" vocals, but shit, this definitely rivals RITAC (which is pretty much a perfect album)
My favourite bits so far include the intro, the guitars on Terrible Lizards, THOMAS MIDGLEY WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, the guitars on the title track, actually the guitars are faultless across the entire album - my hands subconsciously move into air guitar position
BATS
It's really weird
First 3 listens I wasn't too sure about the LP as the vocals were so buried in the mix and muffled. Then my headphones broke, I got some cheap £10 earphones to keep me going and the whole thing sounded ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
Think you may need to tinker with your hi fi or iPod settings to get the most out of the vocals potentially.
That aside, the whole thing is wicked. I hope they come over here soon
Yeah, can't go wrong with Vocal booster + cheap earphones!
But once it clicks, it clicks. All records are the same to varying degrees i guess
This has managed to get even better over the weekend, mostly due to playing the FUCK out of it
I imagine the launch was awesome.
WE WOULD DO WELL TO ACCEPT THAT THE UNIVERSE WASN'T BUILT FOR OUR BENEFIT
That gig was incredibly fun.
Joffery from games of thrones was at the gig said he wanted to fill the niche of Richter Collective, which would be great. Dropped my album loads and lost the sleve notes which sucked, but danced loads probably pissed a few people off but shur fuck it
Been having a proper listen.
It's fucking weird huh? But a good weird. HEAT DEATH is a beast, an absolute beast. Love it.
The backing vocals are quite something
It's the sort of thing I'd hate if it was on every track mind you, but i love how it's used here
AND THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THE GALAXIES FLY
Oh I've just found out it's Pete from Down I Go
(thanks to the great review on your site :D )
Fantastic album
Most excited about an album I've been this year and I'm not easily excitable.
Yeah this is probably album of the year then isn't it?
Of fucking course
Joint top for me right now yeah
Absolutely brilliant throughout.
Pretty much.
It's eclipsed Harmonicraft as my favourite album of the year definitely.

Anyone been to the other dates so far?
planning on going tonight
Never heard this band before...
listening to that new album on spotify now. Their playing is fucking amazing, it's so tight but... frantic and just, YES!
Might have to download this.
Buy it
the artwork is amazing/terrifyingly bleak.
Well that was amazing, as expected
So stupidly tight. And loud. Shame so many had to run to get last tubes for that final duo too. Immense.
Ended up buying an album I already own in all the excitemt. Great supports too, especially Them Wolves.
Side rant: stage times in London
I really don't get why venues put bands on so late. Maybe it's because I'm getting old but despite London having this aura of being a 24/7 city, the reality is most people have to leave gigs or pubs at 11ish to get home if they don't live on a night bus route or in Zone 2. Felt that it was pretty obvious the late start affected how long some people could stay. Saw several people leaving and applauding as they exited, but obviously having to go to catch last tubes. I literally ran to get mine.
That
ffs.
I was going to say - that's why I didn't go to this. I love BATS, but the Old Blue Last does gigs so stupidly late that I'd have to leave by the time they came on. Shame. Glad it was awesome though, they should be bloody massive - top band.
They came on just after 10:30
There were people all over looking at their watches for about an hour beforehand and the room was packed for the supports. Real shame.
Yeah, I'd need to leave at about 10:50 if I was going to get my train
I seem to remember OBL being a trek to get to from one of the undergrounds. I could be wrong though - last time I was there was about 3 years ago when I saw Adebisi Shank, Blakfish and Shield Your Eyes with joeymahone.
BATS
Are amazing, that is all.
BATS were great last night
never thought I'd get to see them as they hardly ever tour, definitely worth it.
Also, never heard of Them Wolves before but massively enjoyable. Gonna have to keep an eye out on them.
