has there been any really great debut albums this year?
i'm just wondering...because i'm pretty sure every record i've loved this year hasn't been the artists first release
no biggie i guess...statistically you're always gonna have more 2nd/3rd/4th releases...etc
just been interested to see if there was any debuts that people have really loved this year that can be recommended...or anything my lazy brain is just forgetting

haven't heard any other great debuts, though. two Door Cinema Club's is alright and LoneLady's is pretty good. -

Broken Bells is a debut album.
Got a feeling the Villagers lp might be one of the best debuts of the year - only heard a few tracks. -
It's not out until April 5th, but I've found myself with We Have Band's debut album

Neverest Songs- Small Voyages
I think Neverest Songs is my only new band/debut album from 2010 so far. Plus he's English! Which I seem to find quite rare for music I like. Sounds a bit Final Fantasy/Owen Pallet-esque at times I think. It took a while for me to warm to it, but one of my favourite albums of the year so far.

holding out for something from Veronica Falls but at the momment i'm a bit of a fool for Ellie Goulding's debut. Even though I know it's awful i just can't stop listening to it

Three Blind Wolves mini album which just came out is excellent
as is The Unwinding Hours album but it's pretty much just a new Aereogramme record.

Race Horses - Goodbye Falkenburg
Was the first album released this year that I really enjoyed. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes Gorkys or Super Furry Animals. The Welsh do inventive, enjoyable pop oh so very well.
