World of Twist's Anthiny died...
sorry if already posted but I just saw on Pitchfork
Anthony William Ogden, the charismatic frontman of influential early 90s band World of Twist, passed away on July 26, reports The Independent. The cause of death has not yet been publicly identified.
Ogden, born Cheadle Hulme, stormed the UK pop scene with his group's debut (and only) record, Quality Street, in 1991. World of Twist disbanded the following year and Ogden retreated to his parents' Stockport home after something of a breakdown. Though there were occasional public sightings and music-oriented rumors of Ogden, not much was heard from the singer before his death. He was, however, working on demos for a new band, the Bubblegum Secret Pop Explosion, prior to his passing.
Ogden and World of Twist inspired bands like Oasis and Pulp, as well as the Britpop and, er other stuff...
