Bio
Initially hanging out as just friends Dassi asked Ami to play on a recording she was doing. After hearing the songs and how well the session had turned out Ami suggested that they form a band, with Dassi on guitar, Dorit on bass and Ami on drums. Working together in their own studio (an extension of where they were living in North London) the band quickly took shape and a lead singer was sought to complete the line up. This was easier said than done but after many auditions in walked the irrepressible Sam Jones who no sooner had he opened his mouth he was asked to join the band.
An early demo featuring four songs (Atlantis, For You, Whenever & Been There) gave them the opportunity to commence live work and perform at various festivals, universities and music venues such as Willow Festival, Ware Festival University of Buckinghamshire and Chelmsford University. Up to the present day the band have performed well over 100 gigs.
Inspired by the reaction to the early dates the band quickly put together enough material to record their first album which was compiled in September 2003 in the bands own home studio with Dassi producing and Dorit recording and mixing. Silverlands songs feature innovative guitar riffs and benefits from the tight rhythm section and Sam’s warm and unique vocals. A potent combination of delicate acoustics and powerful distorted electric guitars also highlights the songs strong lyrical content and several tracks have immediate single potential.
