Bio
Band members names - role in the band:
Owen: Guitar, Vocals
Liz:Bass, Keyboard, Vocals
Nick: Drumkit
Brief Band History:
We formed in 1997 in the darkest depths of the Black Country. I met Gringo people at Leicester University and released 'Life Without Mountains' 7" in October 1998. Released 'Three Songs For Winter' EP in Spring 1999 on Sewing Box Records. We have been wowing audiences from Colchester to Glasgow since summer 1998 when we played our first gig Upstairs at the Garage in London.
Our LP called 'Nothing New Ever Works' was released in April 2000 on Gringo Records and there was a little tour playing third fiddle to Idlewild to coincide. The LP was recorded over the summer of 1999 in people's houses, rehearsal rooms and even proper studios. Very chaotic. But now it's done. In June 2000 we recorded two tracks ('Sports Biscuits' and 'Giant's Heart') for a 7" on Bearos recordings. It was the hottest day of the year at that point and we hope you appreciate how much was sweat was produced for the sake of that bit of vinyl.
The Summer will be spent writing songs and hopefully gigging around the South of England. We will start recording our next album in the winter. It will definitely be available by the end of 2001.
Influences:
Bagels, Coffee, Bad Teen Drama
Life changing albums:
Owen: The first Karate record for crystallizing a lot of ideas I'd been having, 'Reverence' by the JAMC for getting me in to music cause I'd never heard anything like it before when I heard it on the radio. More recently bands like Atavin, Yo la Tengo and soundtracks to European Horror films of the last thirty years.
