Bio
Alfa 9 formed several years ago in Newcastle-under-Lyme (nr. Stoke) and since then their relentless gigging and dedication has paid off, wowing the local scene with their psychedelic live shows and playing to sell-out audiences. Now in their early to mid-twenties, and just signed to Blow Up, they are about to bring their epic psychedelia to a nation-wide audience. Imagine spaced out harmonies graced with beautiful lyrics and some stunning guitar work and you’re about half way to getting what the band sound like. Alfa 9 are surely destined for great things...
The band released their debut single 'For Your Bones' last December which received support including Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 and Janice Long on Radio 2 who liked the band so much she booked them in for a session! This April Alfa 9 supported The Charlatans at an intimate Xfm Manchester ‘home-coming’ gig, and were introduced on stage by Clint Boon as ‘the best new band in Britain’, and Clint has already played the full-length version of the forthcoming single ‘Deadman’ on his radio show. They have steadily been building a wider audience around the UK through headline shows as well as support slots including The Coral, Edgar Jones (The Stairs), Sunshine Underground and Cosmic Rough Riders.
