Artists: Daft Punk

A track hurled into the, er, ‘blogosphere on Valentine’s Day – allegedly a new recording from Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter – has been exposed as a hoax.

Love’ was posted in the comments section of a number of ‘blogs last Thursday (14 Feb), claiming to be from an address registered at Daft Punk’s website, with the poster leaving only the initials ‘TB’ as a calling card.

Word spread pretty rapidly across the internet, with many speculating on the producer of 'Love' until the Trash Menagerie ‘blog volleyed off an email to the near-legendary French house band’s management and all was cleared up.

It’s of course not a new track from daft punk,” read the response from Pedro Winter, AKA Ed Banger boss Busy P.

It sounds really cheap…”.

Catty, though we’re sure the track’s real owner is none-too-bothered – ‘Louis La Roche’ is, apparently, the anonymous alter-ego of a well-known English producer.

Erol Alkan? Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard? Paul Epworth? What d’YOU reckon? Either way, a shit ton more people have now heard his track. You can too, at Louis La Roche’s MySpace.

"it sounds really cheap?"

so did the entirety of daft punk's last album.

could it be

jacques le cont?

its pretty basic

dont think anyone worth their salt would make this and pose as TB. Busy P is right, it's 'cheap'

you know that theyre not gonna record anythig new till 2009

so anything suppoidly by them until that time is not gonna be them

HOW DOES THAT SONG SOUND ANYTHING LIKE THEM?

Electronic dance is better produced than that.

It was rumoured to be

new Thomas Bangalter stuff and set for a release on Roule.

It wasn't.

Possibly it's Stuart Price?

although

if it is Stuart Price, it's not up to his usual standards.

bloody ps3

made me post twice..

blatantly just a chancer

trying to make a name for himself with some poor viral marketing. If it is a known and respected dance producer a) he'd be burning some bridges, b) he makes pretty rudimentary stuff.

no way

it is not calvin harris because it says on the myspace grew up in england like the welsh the scottish get very offended when being called english its a chancer because the songs have no depth they are very basic with very little attention paid to the mixing process kudos for the publicity he has gained but if your trying to pretend to be someone good at music production make a track that is worthy a major producer wouldnt care that his track is being labelled as someone else this guys myspace he is online most of the time since he joined which seems to be an unknown in itself because why does a well known producer need to use myspace to promote themselves

got to admit, I'm curious
