In an era of reality television where fake bands are created and all things contrived rule the airwaves, The Southern Electrics provide a refreshing mix of cutting edge psychedelia. Their aim? To shake things up.

Fronted by electric eclectic, Bill McGruddy, The Southern Electrics were formed in South East London two years ago. They've built a formidable following, playing regularly at top London venues such as The Borderline, The Garage, The Barfly and The Metro Club. Playing live is what The Southern Electrics are all about. Charismatic frontman Bill McGruddy always delivers explosive dance routines, and often improvises his own brand of chemical poetry, rocking like the band behind him. With no two shows the same, The Southern Electrics always give it their all.

'Electric Superhighway', the first UK single release from their debut album, was produced by modern rock maestro & Muse producer Paul Reeve. The Southern Electrics & Mi5 decided to take the unique step of giving the single away as a free download, via the main sites such as iTunes and Napster, as well as direct from Radio Station and Magazine websites. To accompany the single, a video shoot for 'Electric Superhighway' took place at Pinewood Studios, directed by Vincent Lewis from Ignite Productions.

While time reverses into yesterday, The Southern Electrics spell the future of Rock 'n' Roll.
