The Shanners

Bio

  • Scott Finlay - vocals
  • Daniel Gorevan - lead guitar
  • JP O'Rourke - guitar
  • Charlie Schofield - bass
  • Geraint Rogers - drums
The Shanners, an energetic London-based garage punk band are a welcome break from the wave of glum rock that is currently dominating the live music scene. Within eight months of playing their first gig for friends they were headlining some of London’s most prestigious venues. Variously described by reviewers as "crunchingly ferocious but melodic" (Bugbear Promotions), "gonzoid garage" (The Guardian) and “The next big thing” (Area 10 Promotions).

As one reviewer put it, “Musically, The Shanners seem uncompromised by either myth or the now. The bitter bark that forms Furio punches you in the gut while the baulked glam-punk that is a Word to the wise gives you a slap round the face, squirts liquid into your mouth and then rips the stool from under you and gets you to your feet again.” (Nick Dockerty, Ghetto Poets).
