To the outsider Stoke On Trent is a strange place which throws up some interesting cross cultural collaborations and references. The region that brought us The Exploited and GBH also brings us Robbie Williams. Now it has thrown up one of the most exciting bands in the UK. Ladies and gentlemen, meet The Fat Cats...

A core love of rockabilly swing, dirty 50's R&B and cricket led to the Innswingers being formed. A psycho-rock guitarist from London was soon added, along with a new name, 'The Fat Cats'.

As the band invited more and more members from all types of local indie handcore and slow bands down to jam with them, the influences quickly expanded... ska, punk and rock have replaced all the but the rawest elements of 40's and 50's rockabilly (ironically the spinning double bass and slick quiffs remain), resulting in a sound reminiscent of Eddie Cochran playing with The Sex Pistols at a Toots And The Maytells house party.
