THE BENDERS, comprised of Memphis transplant Brian McKay on guitar/vocals and local rhythm duo Chris Serapiglia and J.P. Cyr, are a new band on the New Haven scene.

Fusing the influences of indie-rock eccentrics such as The Grifters (ex-Grifter Tripp Lampkins served as bassist in McKay's Memphis outfit Jetty Webb), Guided by Voices, and Fuck with the more classically power-pop stylings of early-Who, the Replacements, and Big Star, The Benders are in it for the fun of it.
