Dust Byte
Bio
BIOGRAPHY
Formed in 1999, Dust byte were an incarnation of Black Garden (a Black Sabbath/Soundgarden tribute band - only joking!) and ever since then the Dust Byte have always had the attitude of getting their music to 'the people' by gigging their arses off. Through countless tours and opening slots with the likes of Cyclefly and Capdown; Dust byte have now developed a sizable following throughout England and will be bringing their noise pollution to Europe and the U.S.
The quirky quartet have received praise ranging from the likes of Kerrang!, Rocksound and Metal Hammer through to infuential bands such as Fugazi. The live-wired combo have also notched up a healthy amount of radio airplay via TotalRock, XFM, SBN and on college radio in the US!
Dust Byte's debut e.p. 'Butterbox babies' and follow up releases 'Is the is the way it should be?', 'Feeling male e.p.' and current single 'Priscilla/ The misadventures of the great red shark' all racked up critical acclaim in the nation's press and have chartered the band's growth, resulting in the four-piece gaining favourable descriptions; some have labelled them as or like 'Beck crossed with Nirvana', others have simply said 'Catch them before they are huge! The alt-rock crew's debut album (out late 2002/early 2003) is already greatly anticipated and contains the band's trademark buzzsaw riffs, skuzzy electronic undertones and raw energy, via their influences of The Pixies, Jesus Lizard and Beck.
Dust Byte have a number of forthcoming UK tours in the coming months, impending European dates later in the year and new bassist in the shape of 'D-Dog' who has added a new edge to the band's sound. Dust Byte have every intention of building on their reputation as being eccentric fools, whilst constantly developing their sound through regular studio work and touring. Look out for the bytes in 2003!
