*drowning star* came together in early 2001 when guitarist Bay Dariz asked singer/guitarist Aaron Moore to fly to Milwaukee from his home in Ohio to participate in a weeklong musical experiment. The "experiment" quickly developed into a full-fledged band, as they quickly picked up drummer Chad Clausen (who played with Bay in a previous band). They found bassist Justin Lutzow while on a short acoustic tour in Los Angeles. *drowning star* wrote and rehearsed an entire set and played their first live gig only 10 days after forming, and haven't slowed down since. They quickly recorded a four-song demo, showcasing their well-crafted, melodic, expansive songwriting skills.
