[Edit this profile]Undeterred she followed her heart taking secret lessons in voice & piano. An outcast at school because of her ‘unique’ dress sense she would escape into London’s galleries, concert halls & nightclubs.
At the age of 13 she met club promoter & musician Matthew Glamorre at a Minty concert & they became instant friends, they have been collaborating ever since.
Her passion for world music, contemporary composition & experimental electronic work lead her to become star DJ & chanteuse of The Siren Suite – Britain’s only ‘classical’ music nightclub. The experience inspired her to study Sitar under Gaurav Mazumdar, Grammy nominee & senior disciple of Ravi Shankar.
However Bishi is best known as the central DJ & ‘face’ of London’s most experimental & talked about underground nightclub – Kash Point. Her irreverent & unflinching approach to current trends has created a unique sound, impossible to define but loved by many.
Bishi records as a solo artist, collaborating with various producers & musicians to create a vibrant and individual form of pop music. Her sound fuses strong melodies, electronic beats & traditional instruments with layers of lush vocals. The live performances are always greatly anticipated & electrically received.
Press features so far include Sleaze Nation, ID, DJ Mag, Time Out, Flux & Elle Girl; she also presents & DJs on the weekly Kash Point radio show.
Bishi is working on new material exploring ways to fuse Bulgarian vocals with Sitar & Western popular song structures.
One of the most talked about & anticipated young artists in the UK today Bishi is currently unsigned. She has chosen to take her time developing a new sound through small independent labels & limited releases. To date she has been featured on three compilations; the forthcoming collaboration with Brainlove Records is her second solo underground E.P. release.
