Good news fans of expansive, sometimes euphoric and generally pretty DARK music! They are to return this year with a whole new record, entitled The Goodwill Of The Scar, but more about that later.»
London's lovely setting of Somerset House have announced the first lot of headliners for their Summer Series, which takes place over the course of 10 or so days in July this year. It's not as good as last year, in all honesty, but still worth a quick gander, like.»
But is it any good?!»
Annoyed that their new record, Congratulations has been leaked, MGMT have decided to combat this problem by streaming the whole thing on their website. So head over there to listen to it and, if you fancy, tell us what you think below. We'll be giving it a little listen after dinner. »

People always seem ask the question 'what are 8Gorillaz* like live? Y'know, how does it all work? Does it all work?'. If you aren't 'in the know', you'll now have the chance to find out if you can get yourself down to the capital, as the erm, sketchy characters have announced a couple of shows in the city.»
We all love free music, that much is taken as read. Covers? Well, they tend to be, quite often, below par. But the times they work it almost makes all the badness worthwhile. What our friends and irregular columnists for us at Big Scary Monsters are giving away is a WHOLE EP of covers, by Shoes & Socks Off a.k.a. Tobias Hayes.»
Right, I'll keep this quick because it's a Sunday and I'm off to watch the football down the pub imminently. You should be aware of ChatRoulette by now. You should also be aware of the viral piano-improve video that has been floating around for the past w»

Those Arctic Monkeys release a new single from their current LP, Humbug, in 'My Propeller'. There's also a video for it, directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern. Earlier in the week we found out that the iamamiwhoami videos were NOT Lykke Li, but you knew this already. No great disappointment for fans of the Swedish popstrel, especially given that she's now aired a video for 'Possibility', taken from the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack from last year.»
OK, not going to bother arsing about with an introduction this time round. Here's what's happening in the festival world, or rather, what has happened in the last week or so. De-tail.»
You may be vaguely aware that some YouTube videos aren't embeddable on external sites, like ours, or indeed on many blogs...»
Last month we brought to you the new CocoRosie album cover and general details. It was, we decided, one of the biggest abominations in the history of album art, ever, in concept and execution. A lot of you probably agreed. If, for some reason, you want to»
Yo! Too informal? Well 'hello' then. Right, Brooklyn duo Roy Barber and Mary Pearson, who make up High Places have their second full-length record on the way in a few weeks, the follow-up to 2008's eponymous one. This time it's called High Places vs. Mankind and will see the light of day on April 5 through Thrill Jockey.»
Smashing Pumpkins may not have quite entered the common vernacular as a compliment on a certain pair of body parts but they've probably been forgotten by many. Not to panic, though, remember they were/are releasing 44 individual songs for free over a prolonged time period? Called Teargarden by Kaleidyscope or something.»

It's not often that we sing the praises of other publications here, aside from stealing all of our news from Pitchfork, that is. Not because we don't want to, but mainly because it'd be a bit...weird...to do it all the time. »
What with the speed this thing has been flying around the internet, you've quite probably seen it already. Even if you have, it's worth another watch, surely? The song may not be all that and a pint of finest ale, but the video is approaching something close to that. »
